The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Florals

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for April is Florals because April showers bring May flowers and also because Florals for Spring is truly (not) groundbreaking, but we have never featured a burst of colorful floral blooms in this series yet. So let’s have a look all the beautiful botanical styles of my wonderful blogging friends.

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post! If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“Whenever I like to wear florals, it’s most of the time dark florals. So I love this dress. It is still cheerful, to me, because of the white. And I love to wear my patent leggings underneath for some extra …coolness…but I am on the hunt for a pink floral dress at the moment!”

“I just bought a new floral scarf that I am loving! With a deep navy background and lots of white, purple, pink and teal in all the flowers, it is the perfect spring scarf.  I knew it would go perfect with the navy vest I got in my last Stitch Fix box paired with a burgundy top and Jeans.”

“Here is my floral as a good buy!! It’s taken me awhile to embrace the floral prints because I thought they were too girly at first. But this thrifted sweater is one of my faves because it also has some sparkles and beads on it!!”

“This kimono was definitely a good buy! I love the bright, happy colors. And it was on sale, which always is a win.”

Ellie of Simply Ellibelle

“This top was purchased at Marshall’s shortly after the stores opened up again in another state (while ours were still closed). I just loved how it looked on the hanger and the pretty floral print, but was unable to try it on due to the closed dressing rooms. Unfortunately I didn’t like the fit, but missed the return window so was unable to return the shirt. Before throwing it in the donate pile, I decided to style it anyway and here it is…still not really loving it (especially not a fan of the tie feature on the side) but I decided to make it work for one season. Luckily it was only $10 so not too much of a waste, but it was definitely not a ‘Good Buy'”.

“My yellow floral one shoulder dress is from Asos a few years ago. I bought it for my trip to Abu Dhabi and loved it on the hanger! Once I put it on I wasn’t as keen, do let me know what you think of it my friends. I love how feminine it is, all floaty and flowery. I paired it with my gold ‘dancing’ sandals. I’d love to dance in it, but haven’t had the opportunity yet! I picked out the orange and borrowed a River Island clutch from my daughter.”

“The blouse is most likely a good-bye. It was bought on a whim for my fall capsule and only wore it once. That is lousy cost-per-wear, even if it was inexpensive. This blouse has too many colors for my personal color contrast, which means a lot of extra makeup to make it work. I may give it another try again in the fall, but if I don’t wear it, it’s outta here! (At least I got a blog post out of it?)

“I call this skirt ‘floral with a side of gingham’ and it was definitely a good buy. A couple of years ago, I’d made a stop at very popular department store to just quickly run in and get what I needed (which wasn’t a new skirt). But this skirt was on a rack by the entrance and I couldn’t resist.

And me!

I mentioned in the Reminder post how much I love dark florals and then I didn’t share very many dark florals in that post. I really like the moodiness and contrast that is created with a burst of bright florals on a black background. Here are some of my favorite Good Buy dark florals.

“I have had this ditsy floral print overall mini dress for so long that I can’t even remember when I purchased it. But I love it as it offers so much styling versatility. And it’s wicked cute. Definitely a Good Buy.”

“I bought these floral cowgirl boots a few years ago and I loved them so much that I also got them in gold. Definitely Good Buys! You can see the gold ones on Nancy’s post.”

“Another black dress with a floral print that is definitely a Good Buy. This one was a preloved find in my local consignment shop. I love the flirtiness of the style and fabric.”

And now won’t you please hop on over to Nancy’s post for more blooming florals to welcome in the spring and and celebrate sunnier days ahead.

Up Next….Tulle

The theme for May’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book will be Tulle. Won’t you join us next month with your favorite (or least favorite) Tulle things. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of May to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight!
