The Best Slouchy Hat Ever & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #118

This is not a sponsored post.

I am becoming obsessed with slouchy hats. But that shouldn’t come as a surprise. I become obsessed with most things related to fashion and style. Shoes and boots? Obsessed. All things velvet? Obsessed. Blanket scarves? Obsessed. Jeans? Yep, totally obsessed. Camouflage, floral, polka dots, stripes, leopard print, plaid? Absolutely obsessed. I could go one like this forever. But I will stop because I think you get the point.

Anyway, my new obsession is slouchy hats. But not just any slouchy hat will do. Because Spring is finally arriving in the North Country (although it probably does not look like it in these dreary gray photos with spatters of snow still on the ground), I am in need want of lighter weight hats so I don’t overheat when the sun decides to stick around for a month or two. I am finding easy, casual hats like the slouchy hat to be quite practical for things such as bad hair days and long overdue root touch ups. I am waiting patiently for you, Olivia, to return from maternity leave. That baby is stinking adorable but my roots are not! Thank goodness for Linda Gibbs and her adorable handmade slouchy hats in a linen/cotton blend to hide this hair disaster straight into the Springtime!

I have shared about Linda’s handmade items on my blog before. One post features an adorable crocheted neckerchief and another post shares a wish list of my favorite items from Linda Gibbs Handmade. But currently, my Linda Gibbs Handmade wish list consists solely of all the slouchy hats…in every color! I am needing blush/pale pink, cream/ivory, gray, red, cobalt blue, various shades of green, and probably that brown one, too! But Linda, don’t start making them all at once. I have to budget myself and add them to my collection slowly!

I just bought one in a light denim blue as well from Linda’s boutique at The Downtown Julie Brown Marketplace and it is such a magnificent color. Stay tuned for how I styled that one…coming on April 24 as part of the Magnificent 8 collaboration. In the meantime, if you are looking for unique accessories to add to your Spring wardrobe, why not shop local small businesses…whether they are local to me or to you! It’s always great to support those people in our communities who are bringing creativity and personality to our towns. Venture into those markets and shops that you may not have considered before. You never what kind of gems you will find! Like the best slouchy ever!

Also, don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone when it comes to trying new fashions. I was always quite creative with my wardrobe, but since I began blogging, I have definitely honed my pattern mixing skills. I actually have been feeling quite boring lately if I am not donning a multitude of various prints in one outfit. Although there is still something fabulous about understated basics as well. I don’t know if you can tell here, but this outfit has combined three different patterns: a floral dress, striped tights, and star printed combat boots. I almost added a fourth print in my scarf but opted for a solid black one instead to not overwhelm the senses of others. If you are still learning how to mix patterns, my best advice is to just try everything! When something works, you will have a total A-HA moment and that’s when you will know that you have nailed it! On that note, I am thinking of writing a post on how to mix patterns like a fashion blogger. Would anyone be interested in that topic? Do let me know. I aim to please!

Finally, I want to take a brief moment to thank you all for your continued support of my little blog space and for inspiring me and uplifting when I share my down moments, too. This is life. The ups and downs. Winter rolls into Spring and then we fade back again. Year in and year out. The cycle continues. And we cannot do it alone. We shouldn’t have to do it alone. And I appreciate this community more than words can describe.
