Simply Be Boots & Link Up On the Edge #113

These boots were provided to me for purposes of this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Who here is a shoe addict? All fingers seem to be pointing at me. There might be some fingers pointing back at some of you, too. If that is the case, then you will understand exactly where I am coming from when I say there is no such thing as too many pairs of shoes. Or is there? If anyone has too many shoes, it is probably me. Half of my problem is that I can’t ever get rid of anything. The other half of my problem is that I simply can’t resist a cute pair of shoes.

But we all know that those cute shoes often come with a price…either one preceded by a dollar sign or one followed by a whole lot of pain. A shoe lover’s dream comes true when you get both style and comfort without the high price tag or a lingering ache in your feet after all day wear. Enter Simply Be, an online women’s retailer that specializes in plus size apparel. My plus size friends (and even some of you who do not wear plus size) may be familiar with the struggle of finding stylish boots for fall and winter that fit comfortably around a larger calf. We all know how the swelling sets in at the end of a long day, too, which can make your shoes and boots feel two sizes too small after about 8 hours. So when Simply Be reached out to me to see if I would like to try a pair of their wide calf knee high boots, I did not hesitate.

I chose these Double Buckle High Leg Boots because they had that little bit of edge that you know I always crave. And now that I am working all these retail jobs on my feet all day, I wanted something stylish, practical, versatile, and comfortable. These seemed to meet all of my requirements. And they are moderately priced for a pair of quality boots that go with 95% of my wardrobe.

So I have to tell you, of all the pairs of shoes and boots I own, these just might be the most comfortable ever. That is the honest to God truth, based completely my own experience. The zipper broke last winter on my favorite L.L. Bean black knee high riding boots. I stuffed them in the back of the closet with every intention of having the zipper repaired. They are at least a decade old and you know how one can grow attached to a favorite pair of boots that have been in one’s life for over a decade? It is always so hard to replace such things. Nothing ever seems up to the standard of our old beloved items. And honestly, I am now reconsidering having those L.L. Bean boots repaired. Because I don’t think I would choose them over my new Simply Be boots.  These new boots are so comfortable (did I already tell you how comfortable they are?) and I really felt pretty freaking badass wearing them.  They are definitely more like super hero footwear than those old stodgy L.L. Bean ones.

These boots really are just that fabulous. They feel lightweight on my feet, there is lots of cushion, they are soft and supple with a nice hearty tread which is perfect (and necessary) for the brutal North Country winters. Yep. I have to say that I have found my new favorite boots. Here’s hoping they stay with me for a decade or more.

If you would like to see more of my favorite things from Simply Be, you can read my wish list here.

These are definitely not sitting shoes! They were made for walking and kicking some butt!

Do you have a very favorite of pair of boots that you always reach for all fall and winter long? Are they get tattered and broken but you just can’t bring yourself to part with them?  Tell me your boot story!

And now the featured favorites from last week’s link up.

Rema of Jewelry & Jeans shared two wicked cute maternity looks for fall in her post, Fall Color Trends. A woman after my own fashionista heart, Rema is rocking a beautiful printed kimono, gorgeous blush pinks, and a little dash of snakeskin. I love it all!
