May Birthdays with Ada & Sunday Showcase Link Up

I have joined Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood in blogger collaborations so many times in the past four years that I have lost track. But every year when she invites me to join her big birthday blog collaboration, I am always so excited to be at the party! This year she asked us to style something in red, pink, or coral for her birthday. I found this dress in a shade of deep coral hiding in my closet and thought it was perfect for a birthday party. I paired it with plaid tights, my fave combat boots, and a moto jacket…because yes, it is still too cold in Northern New York to not wear a jacket.

But party outfits aside, this year I decided to share some fun facts about May birthdays…since my birthday is in May. As is my husband’s. And my son’s and father-in-law’s. My nephew also has a May birthday in addition to a multitude of really great friends including Ada. And when I think of all the folks whom I know who were born in May, they all have something in common…they are pretty fantastic people! So what makes people with May birthdays so special? Let’s look at some of the interesting things I discovered on the good old internet…

Obviously, most of these facts are purely speculation with no real grounding in science or anything else provable. This is all just for fun! This article breaks May borns into 4 categories with different sets of personality traits.

People born in May are stubborn. I beg to differ. Ha. Not really, I kind of agree. We are all stubborn in my household and three of us are May borns. However, my March born baby might be the stubbornest of us all.

They are physically and emotionally strong. I can attest to that in all of the May born people I know.

May borns are dreamy and self-motivated. Yeppers, that’s me, for sure.

People with May birthdays love to travel and have short tempers. I have to disagree here about myself at least. I have more patience than most people so rarely lose my temper. And I don’t travel much. Not that I don’t care for it. I do love to visit new places, but I kind of hate the process of packing and getting to wherever it is I am going.

May babies are good looking with bright eyes. Well as far as how good looking a person is, that is truly in the eye of beholder. I do love people with bright eyes! I don’t know if birth month actually has much to do with that, but I’ll take the compliment as a May baby myself.

Their favorite color is yellow or green. Green has been my favorite color forever. But I don’t think this rings true for every May born person.

This article discusses 10 traits that are common in people born in the month of May. Apparently, we are hard-working, emotional, restless travelers who are reasonable, self-motivated, and stubborn money-spenders who enjoy art and being in the spotlight.

Falling under two different astrological signs, Taurus and Gemini, May borns are definitely an interesting bunch. I don’t know if you are a believer in astrology at all, but I always find it fun and interesting to see where the predictions line up. I am a Gemini and I definitely show lots of those twin signs in my personality. And I am married to a Gemini which certainly keeps our life interesting and exciting.

    Shelbee, there are SO many birthdays in April and May! My family has a lot of them in April. Like you, I find it interesting to read my horoscope. It’s just general enough to fit most anything! Haha! Happy birthday month to you and Ada and all other May birthdays.

      Thanks so much, Darlene! Do you ever find it so funny when you meet someone new and you discover your birthdays are the same or very close to each other? We get so excited about shared birthdays for some reason. It makes me laugh! And yes, horoscopes are fun because you can make them fit any situation. We don’t have many May birthdays, just my brother, but when I married into my husband’s family, we suddenly had so many 7’s.     Hi Shelle. First of all I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for collaborating and contributing to my blog’s birthday party once again. I always enjoy our collabs as you truly are one of the best bloggers out there. Plus you make me smile and laugh and I learn so many things from you. Yours is the only post as a birthday blog participant, I have read so far, but it won’t be the last. Welcome by and read both of my fun birthday posts. Like you – funny story – I wrote a little bit about May birthdays and like you I know a lot of people that were born in May. And girl 3/4th of your family has a May birthday haha. I must say the basic characteristics of a May-born person are true for me. I am very stubborn, I love arts and fine things and yellow is one of my favorite colors. 😁😚 Also, I have bright eyes and on my last post with these liquid leggings and the red sweater, you actually get to see the bright green eyes very well. 😊

    I love the boho edginess of this look that is still girly and cute with the dress and pigtails. I own a similar dark coral Bohemian dress. It has long bell sleeves. You look beautiful and this is very much a Shelbee look! Also, I can see this outfit for a bar night out, tonight, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!!

    What a fun post Shelbee! Aside from my son, celebrating a birthday in March, most of my family and friends celebrate a birthday towards the end of the year so learning about May birthdays is wonderful!
