It’s the 100th Link Up On the Edge

Just over 2 years ago, on June 16, 2016, I hosted my very first Link Up On the Edge. I didn’t even introduce it or anything, I just kind of threw it in at the end of the post as if I had been doing it forever! I was still using a selfie stick in my back yard for many of my photos back then. Not that my photography has improved much…I am still just using my iPhone camera, but I have graduated to a remote and tripod and have ventured out of my back yard…right on to my front porch for these photos that my husband took standing inside the front door because it was raining and I was running out to catch the Wednesday night live music at a local tapas bar, Spokes Craft Beer & Tapas.

I wanted to do something special for this 100th link up, but in all honesty I just wasn’t on top of it and so it never came to fruition. Oh well. These things happen. There is no sense fretting about it. But I will share some brief statistics with you. I was nervous adding that link up 2 years ago, unsure if anyone would actually join it. That first week, there were 37 posts added. By the second week, there were 61 links. And by the 13th week, 113 links were added. I was super excited to break that 100 link milestone so quickly. Week 83 had 176 links added and last week there were 135. So it has maintained pretty steady with participation. And for that, I am so grateful to all of you for visiting each week and adding your wonderful posts! Without you, I suppose there is really no point in continuing to host link ups.

In the beginning, I was so diligent in visiting each and every post that joined my party and leaving a thoughtful comment. But as the number has grown and as my blog has grown, I have been unable to visit and comment as often as I would like. For that, I apologize. As many of you know, blogging is a lot of work…add in raising two young kids and all the demands of home life and it seems that visiting and reading blog posts all too often gets pushed down my priority list. I am working on my time management skills as far as that is concerned and am hoping to do better. Because I appreciate you all so much and want to make sure you know it!

With all that being said, I do enjoy hosting this weekly party! It keeps me on schedule with my posts and I look forward to scrolling through all the link ups and choosing my favorites to feature each week. If you have considered hosting a link up but are on the fence about it, I highly recommend giving it a try! It is a great way to meet new bloggers and discover some fabulous content that exists out there in blogland!

Because this is a milestone link up, I have decided to feature 5 posts from last week.
