Inspired by Style Splash: Cattitude & Random Quotes

This is not a sponsored post.

I had pretty much forgotten about these cat stockings that were given to me as a gift from my friend Emily a few years ago. I tried them on when I first received them, but they just didn’t fit. For whatever reason, I held onto them anyway. And I am glad that I did!

I was reminded of them when Emma of Style Splash shared her post, Cattitude Subscription Box Review: The Purrfect Treat for You and Your Kitty, which featured all sorts of adorable kitten inspired accessories. I figured since I have lost 25 pounds since receiving these tights, I should give them another try. And they fit! This made me purrfectly thrilled to be able to style them with as much cattitude as I could muster.

While my outfit is not necessarily a copy cat of Emma’s, it was still inspired by her post. And Emma is a master of styling cute cat inspired pieces on her blog. So I went searching for some of my favorites of hers, but I know I missed some (you have an adorable cat bag, don’t you, Emma? I just couldn’t find it!) Check out these fur-tastic outfits that Emma has featured…

Isn’t she just adorable?! I love to add a little unexpected whimsy to my outfits. It keeps people on their toes and it just makes me smile. And isn’t that what fashion should be all about? The smiles. The feeling good. The extra bounce in your step. The silliness and the fun. No matter how ridiculous it may seem to others. Revel in the ridiculous! It’s what keeps life interesting.

And I have not much more to share today except a whole pile of pictures of myself. I can’t even stand how vain that is. But it is the nature of a running a fashion blog, I suppose. Hopefully, I can inspire you with some random quotes about stuff…

“Perhaps one reason we are fascinated by cats is because such a small animal can contain so much independence, dignity, and freedom of spirit. Unlike the dog, the cat’s personality is never bet on a human’s. He demands acceptance on his own terms.”

Lloyd Alexander

“Cats are the runes of beauty, invincibility, wonder, pride, freedom, coldness, self-sufficiency, and dainty individuality – the qualities of sensitive, enlightened, mentally developed, pagan, cynical, poetic, philosophic, dispassionate, reserved, independent, Nietzschean, unbroken, civilised, master-class men.”

H. P. Lovecraft

“I’m not sure why I like cats so much. I mean, they’re really cute obviously. They are both wild and domestic at the same time.”

Michael Showalter

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

Marilyn Monroe

“All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning. Great works are often born on a street corner or in a restaurant’s revolving door.”

Albert Camus

“Now I find seriousness to be rather ridiculous.”

Brie Larson

“If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”

RuPaul

“Life’s too short to bullshit.”

Naomi Campbell

“If you have something about yourself that’s different, you’re lucky. It’s not a curse.”

Taylor Swift

“You’re not gonna tell me who I am. I’m gonna tell you who I am.”

Nicki Minaj

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.”

Katharine Hepburn

“Always remember you’re unique, just like everyone else.”

Alison Boulter

“A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That’s why they don’t get what they want.”

Madonna

“Sunshine mixed with a little hurricane.”

Unknown

“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”

Jane Austen

“There comes a time when you look into the mirror and you realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. And then you accept it. Or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking in mirrors.”

Tennessee Williams

“A man’s vanity is more fragile that you might think. It’s easy for us to mistake shyness for coldness, and silence for indifference.”

Lisa Kleypas

“Beauty is not who you are on the outside, it is the wisdom and time you gave away to save another struggling soul like you.”

Sharon L. Alder
