I am going to continue with Friday Favorites again this week since I received a positive response to it last week. So let’s get started.

Watching

Netflix: A stomach bug has struck our house so we have been just hanging around in our pajamas for the past few days. While the kids were curled up on the couch watching videos on their kindles in between napping, I took the opportunity to check out what Netflix had to offer. They so kindly suggested Irreplaceable You as a movie that I might enjoy. And I really did enjoy it. However, I went through a box of tissues because it is damn sad and I was crying my face off. But it also addresses certain realities that many of us may have to face in life and provided lots of food for thought. So if you are in the mood to have a good soul cleansing cry, I say grab the tissues, get cozy, and watch this movie.

Star Wars: I never considered myself much of a Star Wars fan, but I did go see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker over the holidays and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really enjoyed the film. It was in 3-D which tends to give me a headache but with a little herbal assistance, the 3-D feature was actually pretty cool, too. I have probably watched most of the Star Wars epic in bits and pieces here and there throughout the years, but this was the first Star Wars movie that I watched in a theater. Actually, it was probably the first Star Wars movie I sat down and watched start to finish. I have to admit that I am now a fan and I think I need to start from the beginning. I also want to check out The Mandalorian. I just have to find where I can stream it without paying too much money.

Wearing

Graphic Tees: Speaking of Star Wars, I was going through a bag of clothes that Jeff was getting rid of and listing them on Poshmark for resale and I found this Star Wars tee shirt. Since I am a newbie fan, I don’t own any Star Wars gear. I took this find as a sign that I needed a Star Wars tee shirt added to my ever growing collection of graphic tees. I pulled this out of the bag, looked at it, and very excitedly exclaimed out loud to no one, “Mine!”. I promptly styled it the next day to share with you today.

Chenille Robe: The past few weeks, I have been in complete and total hibernation mode, hiding away from the world. My routine has been getting dressed in the morning, taking the kids to school, doing a quick outfit photo shoot somewhere, and then changing into sweatpants and my favorite green chenille robe that I got on clearance last year from Target. It is so soft and cozy in the prettiest shade of dark forest green. I sometimes even throw it on over my clothes if I don’t get changed because I am always, always cold.

Selling

Poshmark: This is my favorite place to sell my unwanted clothing. I have so much stuff, too much stuff, that I cannot possibly wear it all. I did a closet clean out about 6 months ago and there are bags and bins full of things in my basement waiting to be listed on Poshmark. Sure I could donate it, but why not try to make a little extra cash first. I have done the consignment thing, but I find Poshmark to be a bit more lucrative. I have not been an incredibly active seller, but in the past three years I have had 100 sales and earned over $1,100. One of my new goals is to be more diligent about taking the time to create the listings…because I can’t sell it if I don’t list it. What I like about Poshmark is that you determine your own price and can negotiate at your own will. They keep 20% of your earnings, so you get 80%, which is better than any consignment shop or resale website that I have researched.

I think that is all I have for this week which I guess isn’t too bad considering I haven’t really left my house in nearly a month. Perhaps next week will see me becoming more adventurous and more productive, or at the very least maybe a bit more socially engaged with the world.

I just apped my girlfriend and she and her husband had stomache issues too.it s a bug here in the Netherlands at the moment! Gerben has also seen Star Wars, I never liked SF. Give me a good horror and candy and you want hear me! Happy weekend love!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Nancy, thanks for stopping by! I can’t watch horror movies! No way. They freak me out too much. This stomach bug is pretty awful here. I was told that Archie’s class had 8 out of 20 kids absent yesterday. I may keep my kids home from school again today. I am waiting for them to wake up to see how they feel. I think the worst of it is over, but we are all so tired now. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Great styling of this Star Wars tee – thank goodness you caught it when your husband was ready to say goodbye to it! My husband is a HUGE SW fan and I have NEVER seen even one of the movies, isn’t that funny! I have yet to list things on Poshmark but I need to and thanks for the head’s up on the movie Irreplaceable You – I’ll skip it, I am avoiding sad movies!
    Have a great weekend!!
    xo,

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Kellyann, thanks so much for stopping today! You should watch some Star Wars! It’s all very inspirational. I think you would enjoy it. And it would probably make your husband super excited! But Irreplaceable You…definitely do not watch that one right now. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

I always say I’m going to sell things on Poshmark but then it never happens. I had accumulated so much that I didn’t wear anymore, it was too overwhelming to try to list so I sent it all to ThredUp. Love how you styled our Star Wars tee! Hope you are feeling better!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks so much, Jill! I have looked into ThredUp and I didn’t really like the way they do it. But I totally get it…it is super time consuming to photograph and list a lot of things on Poshmark. But since they changed it that you can do it from a computer (it used to be that you could only add listings from a mobile device which made it super tedious work), I can add a bunch of listings pretty quickly. I am at the point where I am trying to dedicate half a day once a week to getting a bunch of stuff listed. I think I added 40 listings on Sunday.

We are coming around from this bug, but we are all still pretty tired. I might keep the kids home from school again today just to rest through the weekend. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, Kathrine! I was going to try to start watching The Mandalorian and then I stumbled upon this Netflix original series, Virgin River, and got totally sucked into that! I need to finish that one first now before I start a new series. Have a great weekend!

I hope you are on the mend now and feeling much better going into the weekend. I am adding that Irreplaceable You to my list. I would love to find a Poshmark like site here locally to consign my clothing. Often times they are in perfect condition, I just need an update or a change, as I tend to keep my closet on the smaller size. It sounds like you’ve made pretty good sales so far.

Thanks so much, Bo! I kept the kids home from school again today just to rest and recover for the weekend. Apparently, this stomach bug has been sweeping through their entire school. And we are just exhausted. Oh, I do hope you can find a consignment site like Poshmark. Maybe you could lead the way and develop one! How is that for a lofty goal? I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Such a fun outfit and love that coat!
I’ve watched one Star Wars movie at the movies years ago (I think it was Star Wars Episode 1). My husband forced me to it. 🙂 I didn’t dislike it and I stayed awake during it (I fell asleep during Lord of the Rings LOL), but I’m just not a fan of any Sci Fi, so I haven’t watched any others.

My daughter asked me this week if she can sell some of her unwanted clothes on poshmark…I said no, but maybe I need to look into it. Making over $1000 is amazing!
    Thanks for hosting the linkup!
    Ellibelle’s Corner

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Ellie, thanks so much! I fall asleep during almost every movie no matter what genre! And I did struggle in the Star Wars movie, too. Only because it’s dark and I get all cozy and comfortable so I am tempted to doze off. But I managed to stay awake and I’m glad I did. I think Poshmark is definitely worth a shot. Plus if you are looking to just swap out things in your wardrobe, then don’t even cash out your earnings, just leave them there for future purchases of your own. Let me know if you have any questions about it all. I am more than happy to help.

OK. I have to ask. What green chenille robe? Because I’m seeing houndstooth and it looks black and white. Is this like that dress that looked like one color to some and another completely different color to others? LOL! Anyway, this outfit is just wonderful! I loved the first two Star Wars (ever…..like when Harrison Ford was 30 maybe – wow….now I really feel old). On the third one (I think it was the third) they introduced those little forest tribbles or whatever and they lost me. I know the new ones are also well-done and I’m sure I need to go back to anything after episode 3 and watch them all. At any rate, what a great score on rescuing that graphic tee and I love how it looks with the houndstooth jacket or dark green robe…whichever. I had that stomach thing, too. It started out like a cold but I ended up with a low-grade fever and nausea. Thank goodness, with some daytime cold and flu stuff I was much better by the next day. I’m glad everybody there is recovering (and that your boys are old enough to have Kindles and keep themselves amused when you’re not feeling great). I’ve been starting to think about online reselling. I’ve bought through ThredUp but just haven’t loved the reviews from others who’ve sent things in to be sold. I’ve also bought through Mercari and that seems to work pretty well and you keep your stuff and ship it to the buyer. I don’t know what their fee is for selling. And then there’s always Etsy (again, no idea what the fee is). Seems like there are a lot of re-sellers on there and not just new stuff and crafty stuff. I’m loving your boots and your jewelry too – great job! And thank you for the link-up!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Haha, Ruth, I am so sorry that I confused you! I didn’t post any photos of my green chenille robe so it was no trick of perception that I was going for here!

I think I definitely need to watch the Star Wars saga in sequential order because I kind of missed every reference you have made except Harrison Ford being so young in the beginning making you feel not so young. I can relate to that!

I have also heard not so great things about selling on ThredUp. I am not familiar with Mercari and I was under the impression that in order to sell on Etsy, the items had to be handmade or true vintage. Maybe they have changed their guidelines recently, I haven’t checked. I know other people resell clothing on eBay as well, but I feel like if you aren’t already an established seller on there it is difficult to get started due to over saturation. But maybe that was an experienced eBay seller telling me that so that I wouldn’t take a piece of the market. Who knows? People can be competitive about the strangest things.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We will just be relaxing and recuperating.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for the feature Shelbee! Such a great thing to wake up to 🙂 I always love the bit of edge you put into your outfits. Actually, you look great in every style and I love how you are always changing things up! I also love Poshmark! I’m not so great at updating my own account but I love looking around at what others are selling. Hope you all are feeling better!

Thanks so much, Lizzie! I guess I am a bit of fashion chameleon, always switching my style and genre all around. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Shelbee you are too funny! Becoming a fan at the end of the series! Now you have to go back and watch them all. Lol, good call in keeping the tee abs I hope everyone is feeling well again.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks, Alice! I know, it is so silly after all these years to finally start enjoying Star Wars. It’s all good through, I have time on my hands to catch up on the last 42 years of this saga! Have a great weekend.

I think I may do a Friday favs but once a month? Anyhoo, enjoyed reading! I love that you found the Star Wars Tee and made it yours! My hub is a fan! ( remember he now has his own light sabers from Halloween!) Those lace up boots are so cool too! I have a pair like that in brown leather which zips as boy it would take ahwile to tie!
I have been binging on “Botched” ( i know mental fluff!) and love watching Acorn for British mysteries. I havent seen the movie you mentioned. A good movie too with Scarlette J is “A Marriage Story.” Great selling on Posh!~
    Have a beautiful weekend!

Thanks so much, Jess! I think Friday Faves once a month is perfect. I don’t think my life is exciting enough to keep at it every week! Sometimes mental fluff is necessary and there is no shame in that. I do remember that your husband has light sabers! Yay for fellow Star Wars fans! These boots do zip up as well because just no to all that lacing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Looking very fierce in that first pic. Love the look. I am a big Star Wars fan and we have Star Wars stuff all over the house. My son is even a bigger Star Wars fan as he has been into it since he was about three.

Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks, Patrick! I was trying out my serious face in that first picture! Hahaha. I guess I succeeded. I am planning on starting the saga from the beginning, but I think I’m going to wait until Jeff is back home so he can watch it with me. Have a great weekend!

One of my friends resold clothes online. She actually bought clothes at an op shop with a view to selling them, not even keeping them for herself. She was a single mum and it paid for her petrol money! I’m not really savvy enough to sort this out for myself.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Ratnamurti, thanks for sharing this! I know some people who make an entire business out of reselling clothing. Well, I did work for a consignment shop and she does pretty well. But there was a man who would come in and buy all the denim when it went to clearance and he would resell it on eBay. He made huge profits by buying from second hand shops at super cheap and reselling. And he only sold jeans. It does take time and commitment but it is becoming bigger and bigger.

Look at what I see….shorts and boots!! One of my favorite combinations now that you’ve introduced me to it. I won’t rub it in that I don’t need the tights anymore (okay, I’ll rub it in a little…haha)

Haha, thanks, Jodie! It’s okay, you can rub it in! I don’t mind wearing the tights. It seems that I have gained quite a large following of tights fetish people on IG! I’ll take the boost in numbers at this point…so I have to please the followers. Tights it is! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hope you are feeling better and over your stomach bug 🙁 I like the combination of your coat and the graphic tee. I always been a fan of blazers with graphic tees. Have a great weekend!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks so much, Nora! I wanted to wear more of a traditional blazer with this instead of a coat but none of mine seemed to work as well as the coat did. It seems like we are done with the nasty bug. Now I am just tired!

I’ve had much more luck on Poshmark than on other places too! It’s not like I’m asking that much, but when I sell to thredup I get around $0.50-$1 for a piece! Then they sell it for $15-20. I sell it on Poshmark for probably $10. Much more worth my time! Good luck selling!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Laura, thanks for sharing your resale experience! I have heard that about ThredUp. They practically pay pennies but you have less work to do. At least with Poshmark, you can set your own price and negotiate as you like. But you have to do all the work. I tend to price everything a little higher so there is room to come down some and I do end up getting much more per item that way. Happy selling to you as well!

Stomach bugs are the worst. 🙁 Sorry you passed one around your house. I’ll have to add Irreplaceable You to my list of things to watch…when I’m in an emotionally healthy place to take the sadness. ha. I have to gear up for “This Is Us” sometimes because I know it will make me cry at some point every episode. 🙂

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thank you for your kind words, Lisa. We are all back to good health now, thank goodness! Yes, definitely be prepared and emotionally ready for some heart wrenching stuff if you watch Irreplaceable You. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

I liked Star Wars but was never a big fan. My son got us watching Mandalorian and now we’re hooked. You’ve got to check out Baby Yoda! Haha! He also turned us onto The Last Kingdom. OMG. So good. Your outfit is super cute and so you–I love it! We all need to hibernate sometimes! Welcome back…

I love this outfit! Nicely edgy! The juxtaposition of the graphic tee and the houndstooth coat is awesome – pop culture against classic design.

Besides the great outfit, I enjoyed this peek into your faves. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about Poshmark. Not only did I sell successfully there, I bought a number if really nice items. Then I got burnt out and have taken an extended break, but I’m starting to think about doing it again.
