Fall Outfit with Halftee: At the Pumpkin Patch & Link Up On the Edge #115

The Halftee was provided to me for purposes of this blog post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I mentioned in Tuesday’s mushroom picking post that we went to a Fall Festival at Wheeler Creek Pumpkin Patch in Clayton, New York, on Monday. Because the life of a blogger always consists of finding fun places for photo shoots, I wanted to create an outfit that was all fall vibes. And what screams fall more than layers and tall boots? It was the perfect opportunity to share with you a new product that has recently come to my attention…Halftee. Halftee is a product that was created by Wyoming native, Amanda Barker, in an effort to reduce the bulk of layered clothing while maintaining a put together look with all the essential layering qualities like cute necklines peeking out from beneath dresses and tops.

Dress: Old Navy from a few years ago.
Jean Jacket: Old Navy from Solitary Consignment.

Halftee Layering Fashions was born out of Amanda’s desire to wear layers comfortably. Her need was in response to finding ease in layers while breastfeeding. But I have to say, Halftees are the absolute perfect layering option for menopausal heat flashes! For real, my friends. You get the cute layers without the extra heat. Because none of us needs the extra layer during a heat flash. And the Halftees are cute enough that you can just throw off the top layer of clothing if the heat flash gets too hot!

The Halftee is also reversible so you can choose two different necklines in one tee. Wear this one as a vee neck or wear it backwards for a scoop neck.

I chose two different Halftees to try. I am wearing the Elbow Sleeve Halftee in black under my plaid dress and denim jacket. The fabric is super soft and absorbent which is also perfect for the sweats that tend to follow the heat flashes. And I absolutely love the half sleeve for the same reason. I am not a huge fan of sleeveless layering pieces like camis, tank tops, and bralettes (although I wear them all the time) because I just sweat too much and they allow nothing for absorption. The Halftee also fits with the perfect amount of snugness to keep things smooth and in place underneath your clothes.  No bunching, no scrunching, no tugging or pulling to straighten things out. Perfectly in place, perfectly comfortable.

Hat: Target.
Boots: Philippa Lace Up Combat Boots from JustFab.

I also ordered the Peakaboo Halftee in white because I do not currently have any white layering options in my wardrobe. I am loving the lace detail on the neckline. I will be sharing that Halftee on the blog next week. But in the meantime, I absolutely wanted to share this amazing product with you all! There is a huge variety of layering options in lots of different colors and prints available from Halftee. And Halftee has generously offered my readers a 20% off your entire order for the month of October by entering code SHELBEE at checkout. So get yours now before the discount code expires! These are a must-have layering staple for any over-heated woman’s wardrobe.  You can find Halftee on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Convertible Gloves: Old Navy.

And now here are some pictures from our Fall Festival excursion. We picked some pumpkins, went on a tractor ride through the haunted woods, and were chased by some scary guys through the corn maze. My kids had a blast! Actually, my husband and I had a great time, too. There was lots of laughter especially when I grabbed one scary guy for a photo opportunity!

I have to say that Wheeler Creek Pumpkin Patch put on a great festival perfect for a family day out. It was reasonably priced at $5 per person and had bounce houses for the kids and a food truck on site. The pumpkins in the patch were $5 per pumpkin as well. We spent about 3 hours at the festival and spent a total of $30 for a family of 4. We will definitely add this Fall Festival to our list of things to do for next year.

What have you all been doing and wearing for fall?  Let me know in the comments!

I am sharing my Link Up On the Edge a day early this week because tomorrow there will be a special link up on my blog to celebrate my blogging buddy, Monica’s, birthday! She has invited a bunch of bloggers to join her and we will all be sharing some words of advice to our younger selves. So be sure to stop by tomorrow for that.

And now the featured favorites from last week.

Nina of Sharing a Journey has featured the most gorgeous red tunic in her post, Fig and Lily Shirt Styled 3 Ways. This shade of red is so stunning and I love the variety of ways that Nina has styled this top. Always in perfect sartorial harmony!
