Esqido Lashes with Makeover Giveaway & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #70

I am back from my mini vacation in Lake Placid! We took a lot of photos, drank too much alcohol, ate way too much really amazing food, stayed up until the wee morning hours, and had more fun than we could have even anticipated. I am mentally and emotionally recharged, but physically quite tired from all the fun! Isn’t that a great problem to have? I am still organizing photos and thoughts and all that stuff, so you will have to wait for more on my girls’ weekend getaway.  Coming soon…

*This is a sponsored post.  The lashes were provided to me for review by Esqido Lashes and the makeover was done for purposes of this post and giveaway.  As always, all opinions are entirely my own.

In the meantime, however, I have joined forces with Esqido Lashes and Kaitlyn Blackmore, who is one of my favorite gals in this little ole town of mine, for a special giveaway just in time for prom season. Like really just in time…because as I sat down to put this post together, I realized that the prom at our local high school is less than 2 weeks away! Keep reading at the bottom of this post for details about the giveaway.

First I want to share with you my experience with Esqido Lashes. I chose the BFF Mink Lashes, which are medium volume multi-wear mink eyelashes featuring a handcrafted cotton band. I have never worn false eyelashes before and had no idea how to even apply them, so I solicited the help of Katie at The Marcy Spa & Salon. Katie is a makeup and false eyelash extraordinaire with a knack for creating a dramatic and youthful appearance with her makeovers. In fact, as we were just finishing the makeover, Katie’s mom, Laurel, approached us and gasped, “Oh my God! You look like you’re 18!” Now I don’t think I really look as young as that, but I’ll take it! Thanks, Laurel!

Look at the dramatic difference in the eyelashes!

Katie and I attempted to make a video of the eyelash application which I will post to my YouTube Channel as soon as I figure out how to edit video. Any tips are welcomed in the comments!

With my novice status in the world of false eyelashes, I relied heavily on Katie’s input about these Esqido lashes. She was more than impressed with the presentation of the lashes and the glue.

Katie commented on the high quality of the lashes as well as the benefit of the wider band for easier application and multi-wear use. As she expertly measured and trimmed the lashes to fit my eyes, she was super enthusiastic about the overall quality and appearance of my new lashes. And she simply could not get over the beautiful presentation of the eyelash box as well as the glue. The wand has a super fine tip making application to the lash band easy and efficient. It is formulated to be latex free and gentle enough for sensitive eyes. I do have very sensitive skin when it comes to various adhesives and I am allergic to latex, so I was a little hesitant about even trying false eyelashes because of that. I am happy to report that I had no issue whatsoever from the adhesive or the lashes.

My only complaint really is that long false eyelashes are not the greatest companions for girls who wear glasses! The lashes kept brushing against my lenses! But I wore them all day anyway!

After Makeover and Eyelash Application

After my makeover and eyelash application was complete, I quickly rushed home to change out of my jeans and tee shirt into a fancy dress for some photos. I mean, a girl has to take advantage of a makeover on a random Friday morning, doesn’t she?

Have you ever worn false eyelashes before? What did you think of them? I had a lot of fun wearing them and felt like a super star all day long!

Thanks for the feature!! I love the lashes and I love your boots and whole outfit!! We went to Lake Placid on our honeymoon 30+ years ago! I would love to see it again!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Pam, thanks so much for stopping by and for the lovely compliment! Lake Placid was so beautiful and such a fun little town! Hopefully, you do get the opportunity to visit there again. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much, Kathrine! I wish I could have opened the giveaway to a broader audience, but obviously when we decided to combine the lashes with the makeover, I had to keep it local! Hopefully, I can run a similar giveaway again soon! Have a fabulous week, my friend.

Welcome back sweet Shelbee!! It sounds like your trip was a huge success. YAY!!! Being told you look 18 is a WOW moment and you gotta’ take the compliment and run. You should be able to float around on that for a little while.😉 I’ve said it before, your skin is beautiful! Didn’t you just love the lashes? They look great on you!!! I love having long lashes now that I’m using Lash Boost. Mine used to be so sad. Katie (my daughter) and I tried putting false lashes on her a few years ago and failed miserably.🤪 She actually looks like she has false lashes on all the time now because she uses LB too. (can you tell I love the stuff?!) If you’ve been bitten by the the lash bug let me know😉Love the floral dress with the red boots. Darling as always! XO

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Lisa, thanks so much! You are so sweet! I might want to try this Lash Boost. I was never dissatisfied with my lashes, but when I saw the dramatic difference, now I kind of want fuller lashes. Thanks for the recommendation! And yeah, I am definitely flying on the comments about my youthful appearance! This weekend someone thought I was somewhere around 30 or 32…hey, I will take that as well! I hope you are having a wonderful week, my friend!

These look fantastic on you Shelbee. I’m allergic to the glue! I’m yet to find one that doesn’t irritate.
Love those red boots too! And I look forward to reading about the weekend.
    Laurie xx

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Laurie, thank you so much! I was really worried about the glue as well because I have a latex allergy and an allergy to certain medical adhesives. I emailed the company and they assured me that I would not have a problem with the glue. I tried it on my hand first before applying to my eyes and I had no reaction either way. Thankfully! But I totally understand why you wouldn’t want to try them! Nobody needs an allergic reaction on their eyelids! Have a great day, my friend.

I love your lashes they look great. My granddaughters where false lashes all of the time but I can’t seem to get them on correctly. Also your dress is adorable.

  • Jodie

I do think that longer lashes are so youthful!! But the glasses problem is real. They look so fabulous on you, and it makes me want to move next door just so I could win the prize!!
And I’m so glad you are rested and relaxed…I think I need some time off like that!!

Jodie, you are so funny! I kind of want you to move next door just so we can have weekly coffee and shopping dates! Ha. I have to say that I highly recommend trying false eyelashes just because they are fun, but I also recommend a relaxing weekend getaway and a blogging break because it is necessary for maintaining our sanity! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful week, my friend!

  • Bettye

Wow those lashes are amazing! I’ve only ever worn false lashes as part of a Halloween costume! They were fun but a little over the top for me for every day. Plus, what a pain in the b*tt to apply!

Glad you had a good weekend with your girls 🙂

    Bettye

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Bettye, thanks so much! The lashes were definitely fun to wear and I felt super sassy, but I would never wear them everyday either! I don’t even think I could apply them myself…especially since I can’t see without my glasses! I hope you are having a fabulous week.

I’ve been putting false lashes on my daughter a lot for her dance competitions and I really should try them again on myself. I bet I’d be a pro now! Wow, what a transformation! Love it! It’s amazing what false eyelashes will do for your look! I love your tights and that cold shouldered dress on you!

First of all, I am so glad you had a good weekend and that you are mentally recharged! Second, what a difference these lashes make! Wow. That is really beautiful, it looks very natural too! Third, that outfit is so very good! The colors, the print, the boots! Fantastic look dearest Shelbee! Now love, don t start with working very hard again because you have to catch up from the weekend! Take it slow! Take it from an older woman!😂😂😂😂😘😘😘😘😘

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Nancy, thank you so much for the lovely comment and the words of advice! I am actually trying to take it slow as I ease back into work. In fact, I may only post two or three times this week instead of my regular seven times! I have lots of behind the scenes things to catch up on anyway like editing photos and coordinating some collaborations and such. I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Very glam, love them! My daughter applies eyelash extensions for me which look fabulous too – only last on me for about 2 weeks so have to re-apply new ones. But I LOVE the effect they have – no mascara – yippee!! Thanks for hosting too Shelbee, Have a super week. Jacqui Mummabstylish

  • Suzy Turner

WOW! Shelbee, you look gorgeous! That dress is absolutely divine too – lovely and summery.
I’ve never actually worn false eyelashes either but I wouldn’t say no to giving it a try (although I can see the glasses might be a problem lol). These Esqido lashes really do look beautiful, and fabulous quality.
Hope you’re having a great week, Shelbee 🙂

Suzy, thank you so much! They were really fun to wear, I just had to slide my glasses down my nose the slightest bit to keep the lashes from hitting the lenses. And my dress and jacket I just picked on super duper clearance at my local Bon Ton which just went out of business, so I couldn’t add any links! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Oh Shelbee you are a beauty! You have gorgeous skin that looks fabulous even without make up! Of course I love the eye lashes too, there’s nothing better than a great pair of false eyelashes to make a gal feel glamorous. Good thing you took advantage and dressed up for photos.
So happy to hear you had a fun girls weekend!!!

    Hi Shelbee
Sounds like my kind of weekend! A lot of fun! I know it takes me time to recoup from any trip it seems! Love the floral dress and the red boots are so darling with the ruffled sides. You look great! Those lashes do look amazing with your pretty eyes. I never considered false eyelashes as i have pretty long ones already but they would be fun for a special evening out!
    Have a wonderful week!

Cheryl, thanks so much! They were really fun to wear, but I never was unhappy with my natural lashes, so I would only do this occasionally. I don’t think I would go for lash extensions…especially in light of your experience. That sounds kind of awful! I hope you are having a wonderful week!

I love the embroidery on that dress; such pretty colors! You’re makeup looks amazing. I haven’t been to Lake Placid since I was a very young child but I have such fond memories. We were there watching all the pre- events of the Olympics and it was amazing.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks so much, Joanne! How cool that you were in Lake Placid before the Olympics! That sounds so amazing. We never even got around to visiting the Olympic facilities, but we still had tons of fun!

This is such a pretty dress Michelle – and OMG the eyelashes make a real statement ! I have to admit I have tried eyelashes about half a dozen time and they always feel heavy and make me feel conscious that I have them on.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Lorena, thank you so much! I had fun wearing the eyelashes, but I was very aware of them on my eyes as well. Of course, it didn’t help that they kept brushing against my glasses so I had to keep adjusting them. I hope you are having a wonderful week!

To quote Cheryl, there is SO much goodness in this post. I love how you’ve become much more adventurous and bold with the fancy, sassy pantyhose, traffic-stopping boots, and divine dress. And, of course, the lashes. First of all, you have the most amazing skin!! I have no idea how I missed that when we met 🙂 and secondly, your makeover sounds immensely fun!!!

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Sheela, you are so sweet! Thank you so much! I guess I have always been so bold I just needed to start adding the bold pieces to my wardrobe and then pairing them together. I hope you are having a wonderful week, my friend!

I sure wish that long and thick lashes were easier to achieve. These are beautiful on you Shelbee. The dress is SO charming. I’ve loved embroidery forever and this dress is beautiful on you. The ruffled boots are really unique and the stockings pretty/sexy! Looks like a date night ensemble to me!
