Aligning My Chakras & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #104

I needed some focus. I needed to let go of toxicity. I needed fulfillment. I needed to reignite my passion. I needed some spiritual healing. I needed a universal realignment. And I needed to take action to get it done. And so my adventures in the healing arts has begun. A new year. A new attitude. A new approach. A new willingness to try new things in the interest of self-examination and self-improvement. A new way to become centered and reconnected with the Life Source that drives us forward, onward, and upward. That universal energy. It only responds when we connect to it. And it is our responsibility to open ourselves up and allow the connection to happen.

So I made it a priority to make an appointment with my dear friend Leti of Good Life Healing Arts. We set up a time that would accommodate the full treatment of Reiki, Crystal, Shell, and Sound Healing. You can read a bit more about these alternative healing methods in my post, Spiritual Healing. You can also read a bit more about Leti in my post, The Good Life.

My healing appointment was on Saturday afternoon. I was late. I hate being late. But I went in to do some cleaning at the shop and got a little bit in over my head. I had to finish what I started. So I let Leti know that I would be a few minutes late. Running late for a set appointment even when I have informed the involved parties of my impending tardiness stresses me out more than anything. I grew up with a perpetually late mother who made me late for everything. I could not stand it. And I vowed that once I was responsible for getting myself to my own destinations, I would always be early. So on the few occasions when time gets away from me, I get wickedly stressed out. So I came flying into Leti’s shop a big old bundle of tense tardiness, kicking myself all along the way. Only to be met with a sense of calm that can soothe even the highest strung nerve. The mixture of fragrant aromas and tranquilizing sounds paired with Leti’s peaceful aura brings you directly in touch with the most magnificent source of energy and serves to initiate the healing process immediately upon crossing the threshold into her presence.

This tiny little space located in the middle of the long hallway inside the Franklin Building in Public Square right in the heart of downtown Watertown, New York, is like a magical enclave wrought with restorative and therapeutic qualities resonating thick in the very air that you breathe. I have visited Leti’s shop enough times to be quite familiar with the serenity that permeates the entire space. You really do feel good just by virtue of entering Good Life Healing Arts. This I expected. As for the rest of it, I had no idea what to expect. I have never submitted myself to a healing session of this sort and I did not do very much research ahead of time. Sometimes, research can skew one’s perceptions and alter expectations to an unrealistic level. So I decided it was best to go with a clear mind, free from any outside influence, and allow Leti to work her art on me.

For those of you who may be familiar with these types of healing arts, I want to clarify that Leti prefers to integrate all four forms of healing therapies into one session. She also allows the energy to lead her where it will. Grounding herself first to the Source Energy of the Universe, she gains a clarity to read and respond to your energy levels and she goes about her craft like the most well-informed of healers, always deferring to her keen intuition as she reads what you are unconsciously speaking and she realigns what has gone astray.

As I relaxed on the table, eyes shut and covered, listening the music, inhaling the aromas, feeling the warmth of the stones in my hands and the pressure of them on my body, I at first found that I could not turn off the million thoughts and ideas that went racing around inside my head like a dysfunctional pinball machine with way too many pinballs. Initially, the noise was deafening. Leti told me to breathe deeply and consciously. So I did, allowing some of the noise to fade away. I managed to refocus on the sound vibrations that were resonating through the air. The more I focused on the waves of sound, the longer they carried on. The longer they carried on, the more I was able to let go. The more I let go, the more relaxed I became, and that allowed Leti to really get to work.

I honestly cannot even tell you how long the session lasted. There were times I fought myself throughout it. As random chaotic thoughts periodically crept back into my mind, I would begin again the process of letting them loose. I realized countless times how very difficult it is for me to relax completely. I believe I have always had trouble with that and I now understand how very important that skill is to master. The clearing of one’s mind, the total purging of all the garbage in order to start fresh. This should be a mandatory daily activity. We become so much more capable of everything when we can approach the day with a clear and clean mind. A few times during the session, I did reach a place of complete detachment from myself. I have had this happen before…but it has always been induced by drugs or alcohol. Feeling this sense of tranquil detachment just from being able to control it through mindful meditation is probably one of the most euphoric experiences ever. And definitely time well spent.

Not being an expert at all on these healing methods, I can only speak from my personal experience and say that however it all works and whatever it does, I feel reenergized, refocused, calmer, and more at ease with myself, my life, and my purpose than I have felt in a really, really long time, if ever at all. Upon completion of my session, Leti explained to me some of her discoveries…

  1. My Solar Plexus Chakra was a little bit out of sorts. This chakra is located in the upper abdomen area and she explained that sometimes hunger can influence a reading. The Solar Plexus Chakra controls our self confidence, self worth, and self esteem. Knowing me quite well by now, Leti was confused as to why this chakra would be a bit off kilter. She asked if I was hungry and I was surprised that she did not hear the occasional growling that was coming from my stomach during the session. She attributed her interpretation of this chakra to simple hunger.
  2. She was mostly concerned with the fact that my Heart Chakra, which is related to love, joy, and inner peace, and my Throat Chakra, which controls our ability to communicate and express our feelings and our truths, were “kind of wonky”. Being at a loss for words on how to describe this weird misalignment of these chakras in someone like myself who spends my entire existence loving, finding joy and peace, and expressing it all with my words, “wonky” was what I got. But then Leti used her expertise to get me all back in order and completely spiritually aligned once again. And I swear to you I notice wonderful effects as my purpose is much clearer since Saturday and my words are flowing much more freely then they have been in the past few months.
  3. My Third Eye Chakra which guides intuition, imagination, and wisdom was very strong according Leti. This made me happy to hear because I do feel quite connected to the Universe from an intuitive stand point. And with that intuition, much wisdom flows forth. And with wisdom, we can creatively and effectively state our purpose and make the difference we desire.

And just to recap, Leti sent me this information after my session…

“You had Sound Healing, Reiki, Crystal Healing, and Shell Healing. All combined! I just call it Energy Healing. That’s what it is. They are not usually offered together but I love all of the modalities and want to share them all. These are the stones I used:

For the Crown Chakra: Clear Quartz (Clarity, Manifestation, Focus)

For the Third Eye Chakra: Amethyst (Calming,Balance, Peace, Goals)

For the Throat Chakra: Sodalite (Communication, Harmony, Trust)

For the Heart Chakra: Rose Quartz (Unconditional Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Self Love)

For the Solar Plexus Chakra: Citrine (Positivity, Joy, Focus)

For the Root Chakra: Carnelian (Motivation, Healing, Courage)

For the Sacral Chakra: Hematite and Smokey Quartz (Grounding, Protective Balance)

Additional stones used were Fluorite-Citrine for Focus; Amethyst for Goals; Pyrite for Success, Wealth, Protection; Selenite for Cleansing and Purifying. Each tuning fork used also has a different frequency that corresponds to each chakra.

You can read more about the different chakras in this article: The 7 Chakras for Beginners.

If you are open to alternative methods of healing, I highly recommend a healing session like this one to help realign you and your energy with the Universe. It really did help me get back to some much needed focus. How do you get refocused?
