A Little Taste of Heaven: Europe Cakes & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #90

This is not a sponsored post.

Have you ever tasted heaven? I am sure you probably have. It comes in all forms, all shapes and sizes, all flavors and consistencies, all temperatures and textures. But if you have a wicked sweet tooth, then heaven is waiting just inside the doors of the historic Paddock Arcade in downtown Watertown, New York. A very short walk down the old hallway once you enter the double glass doors in front. Right there on the left hand side…Monica is weaving her magic behind the windows of Europe Cakes.

Meet Monica, Owner of Europe Cakes in Watertown, NY

Renowned for her cake decorating expertise (she was taught by the best), Monica creates beautiful pastries and baked goodies for any occasion from birthdays to weddings to graduations to corporate events. But it is not necessarily the beauty of her creations that keeps Watertown residents coming back for more. It is more likely the delectable flavors that meet your tastebuds with every single nibble of every single sweet concoction that comes out of her kitchen.

But not only do you get a delicious dessert when you head into Europe Cakes, but you are also met with the biggest smile of gratitude and the happiest greeting ever as soon as you swing open that glass door to walk inside. But I must warn you to enter at your own risk. It is nearly impossible to choose which sweet goodness you will take home with you.  I always end up bringing home way more than I had planned.  It is also unlikely that you can even make it back out the door before shoving whatever heavenly confection you have chosen directly into your mouth.

However, you may want to try your hardest to wait before consuming your sweet treat because I guarantee you will make some sort of sound that indicates delight and bliss. And passers-by may stare in confusion as you float on by in culinary ecstasy. If they gawk with wonder as to why you are acting so strangely, just send them inside the Paddock Arcade and straight down the hall a short distance to the glass doors on the left. Warn them as I have warned you. And enjoy your sugar rush for it won’t last long as sugar rushes never do. But worry not, for Monica is there six days a week with fresh new desserts just waiting to claim the next innocent victim and take them on the most heavenly ride.

While I do love everything that Monica makes, some of my absolute favorites are her cannoli, sugar cookies, black and white cookies, cake pops, peanut butter pie, cheesecake…oh hell, I just started listing everything that she makes! I love it all! Monica made the cutest cake for my boys’ birthdays this past year and do you think I can find the pictures of it? Nope. Lost in the mess of photos stored in various places on my computer. But it, too, was a little taste of heaven. What delectables take you on a journey to tastebud bliss?

This is what I brought home with me yesterday when I visited Monica.

You can find Europe Cakes on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter or right in the Paddock Arcade in downtown Watertown.

The children love Miss Monica’s sugar cookies!
There is absolutely no graceful way to take eating photos. So in an effort to avoid the awkward, one must just embrace the awkward, thereby making a complete fool of one’s self.  Nom. Nom. Nom.

And now your favorite posts from last week.

Rama of Chez Rama shared her post, The Perfect Travel Dress for Europe. She looks so chic and comfortable all at once! I am loving Rama’s style and her photographs are absolutely breathtaking. Go check it out!

Maureen of Little Miss Casual shared her post, Embroidered Cami Jumpsuit. I have never seen anyone rock a jumpsuit (or romper) the way Maureen does! She is just too stinking adorable! And this mustard yellow is gorgeous on her.
