Stripes and Floral with a Zaful Necklace & Link Up On The Edge #31

Today’s post is going to be mostly pictures and fewer words as I have a million things (well, maybe 12 things) to get done today in preparation for heading to NYC this weekend! I am meeting up with a dear old friend for coffee and breakfast. Then I am meeting up with a dear new friend for a little blogger chit chat! And I am super excited!

*This necklace was provided to me for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If there is anybody in the NYC area this Saturday, I will be free around noon if you want to catch up! Just let me know.

(Would someone please remind me to fix that shed?! That hanging piece of wood is driving me crazy!)

Today’s outfit was inspired by another COTD Style Challenge of Crazy Stripes and Purple! My stripes are not all that crazy, but I did pair them with a floral skirt to keep in interesting.

I also have been wanting to style this cute Zaful necklace and have been having the most difficult time with it. I kept trying to wear it as a choker and it never seemed to look quite right. I think I finally got it!

And keeping with the purple theme, I added this very warm shawl collar coat. By the way, it was about 12 degrees outside while I was taking these photos. So cold that it hurt my teeth! (As a result of the cold, my pictures were quite harried and very, very blurry.)

Now onto the business of linking up! I want to thank you all for stopping by every week and joining my link up. I love to see what you are all wearing, sharing, and discussing!

Here are your favorite posts from last week’s link up!

Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine shared the most amazing Lavender Leather jacket. Look how beautifully she paired it with this asymmetrical sheer top, gray jeans, and silver pumps!  So pretty, Andrea!

And Laura of I Do deClaire looks amazing in this Burgundy Sweater & Houndstooth Skirt. A woman after my own heart as I am a huge of both this color and houndstooth! Just gorgeous, Laura!

Keeping it on the edge,

    • Thanks so much, Carrie! I can’t believe it is snowing there and not where I live. Although it is much warmer in NYC as we are sitting at single digits today and tomorrow! So I will take 30 degrees and snow over this sun and 5 degrees! I am cold!

      Have a wonderful weekend.

    • I will be there, Laurie! Thanks so much for the lovely comment. I figured out that you are supposed to tie it in a bow. But I can’t angle my hands the right way to tie the bow around my neck! I think someone else has to tie it for me. Maybe I am too old for this trend! Ha!

    • Paula, thank you so much! The city is a very exhilarating place! When I worked there in my 20’s, it was just fabulous. Then I came into my 30’s and it became too overwhelming and I avoided the place for a decade. Now in my 40’s, I am enjoying my little trysts to the city, but I could never go back to the daily hustle and bustle of it. So for now, I am enjoying these little trips! Have a fabulous weekend.

  21. Shelbee, I what you did with this outfit. First off, I love purple and that floral skirt is so cute. I like how this outfit has so many different elements….stripes, florals, skirt, tunic, sweater, scarf, necklace and coat…and boots…and you put it all together so well. I love layering so you are a girl after my own heart! The colder it gets, the more layers I put on! Thanks for hosting the link up. – Amy
