Solitary Consignment & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #84

*This is not a sponsored post.

I have been having so much fun these past few weekends visiting some local boutiques in my town and playing dress up! Last week, I took you all on a trip through Strut Boutique in downtown Watertown and that post seemed to be received with a lot of enthusiasm. So this past weekend, I popped into a little gem of a shop just a few blocks down from Strut Boutique. Located right in the heart of Watertown’s Public Square is the cutest second-hand shop, Solitary Consignment. Solitary Consignment specializes in second-hand items that range from fast fashion pieces to high end luxury designer brands like Louis Vuitton, Coach, Dooney and Bourke, and Frye Boots. Over the past few years, I have scored some pretty amazing pieces for super low prices from Solitary Consignment.

I picked up this Vertigo striped mini dress from Solitary Consignment about 2 years ago and I still love it!

On Saturday, I met up with Solitary Consignment owner, Denise McLane, for a two hour long dress up session! Denise is vibrant and energetic with a passion for those beautiful luxury brands named above. She has a keen eye for fashion and styling outfits. As a result, we were on fire putting together complete outfits in her shop! Every outfit I styled in these photos is head to toe from her shop, including all of the sunglasses, showing that you can outfit yourself completely in second hand pieces and be absolutely on trend and totally fantastic!

Meet Denise McLane (right), Owner of Solitary Consignment in Watertown, New York, with her good friend Laura Whitney (on left), State Farm Insurance Agent in Watertown, New York. These women are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to style and personality!

If you are local to the Watertown, New York area, be sure to visit Denise for your styling needs and Laura for all of your insurance needs. Both of these amazing women will take great care of you. And if you are cleaning out your closets for the Fall season, why not make some extra cash by selling your lightly used pieces on consignment. Not only is it a great way to support our environment, but you are also supporting a locally female owned business! Just contact Denise to schedule an appointment to find out consignment works.

Okay, now all the business stuff is out of the way, let’s get on with these outfits! You will notice in the photos that many of the pieces still have the original tags on them. But damn it if I didn’t make notes of all the brands I was wearing. I could kick myself! I will list the brands in the photo captions for the ones I remember.  If you are super interested in a piece and I don’t have it listed, just ask in the comments and I will get in touch with Denise for the answer!

Green Dress with Denim Jacket

Bag: Louis Vuitton
Boots: Easy Spirit

Leopard Tank Top, Boyfriend Jeans, and Cobalt Blue Blazer

I totally would have bought these magnificent shoes except they were a size too small. I was dying by the time we finished the photographs of this outfit. Even my husband wanted to know why I didn’t buy them when he saw the pictures!

Printed Kimono Jacket and Skinny Jeans

This was my absolute favorite outfit and I may have to go back for this kimono style jacket!

One great way to spread kindness in your own community is to support all those local small businesses in town. In supporting local small business, you are also supporting someone’s dream! So get outside, get downtown, and go shopping! You will be surprised by all the wonderful things you find in those quaint little neighborhood boutiques!

Do you shop second-hand? I do love a good resale shop but some of the thrift stores have an odor that I cannot tolerate. Consignment shops seem to be the way to go if you are sensitive to the smells that come with thrifting!

And now your favorite posts from last week.

Marianna of The Sweetest Clementine shared her Casual Style featuring the cutest striped flutter sleeve tee and denim shorts. My summer outfit formula has resembled Marianna’s easy look for the past few weeks. And since we still have a lot of warm weather ahead of us, it is nice to see summer outfit inspiration still going strong.

Emma of Style Splash captured my heart in her gorgeous Black and White Polka Dot Dress with Red Accessories. I am always a sucker for a pretty polka dot frock especially in black and white with dollops of deep red. Well done, Emma!

I don’t even remember when I first discovered Mitch’s blog…it was probably about 2 years ago now and I visit it weekly. If you are not familiar with him, you must hop on over and check out his posts. If he doesn’t have me in stitches laughing or turn me into a puddle of emotional mom tears, he at least leaves me with a big huge feel good happy smile on my face. Seriously, go check him out!
