My Week in Review & Link Up On the Edge #86

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I have to be honest…I am so beat! I left Saturday morning and drove to visit my dear friend, Hallie, in northern New Jersey. I have not seen in her in probably 14 years and it was so great to catch up. She is a fellow fashionista and we just had a blast talking about everything from the business of style to parenting, marriage, relationships, moving, life goals, midlife, and everything in between! We covered a lot of ground in 6 hours. I am so excited that she has moved back North after a decade spent in the South, so there are going to many more girl dates in our future, for sure.

On Sunday, I met for brunch with my amazing friend, Susan. She was one of the magnificent women featured in my Forever Fierce post. We were nearly kicked out of the diner where we met after sitting there for 3 hours! (I am kidding, of course, the diner was great as was our server.)  I always feel so empowered after I spend time with dear Susan!

After brunch, I went shopping and for the first time ever visited a Charming Charlie store. In my photos, you can see my new bag from there and the rose and white pearls that I have layered with all of my other pearls. The girls in the Charming Charlie at the Promenade Shops were so amazing! I have to admit I was being kind of a pain in the ass in the needing help department that day and they were all just so fabulous.

Then I spent the day on Monday with my oldest BFF, Jane. She was just featured in my #SpreadTheKindness post on Tuesday. On Monday night, I went to dinner with my sister. I only get to see her a few times a year and it is always such a special event for us both. We had the most delicious food at a little Italian restaurant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. And I have a fun story to share about our dinner date, but you need to scroll down to the featured favorites section of this post to read it.

I finally got into Jane’s photography studio for a few shots.

On Tuesday, I headed into New York City for dinner with some of the Forever Fierce gals including Catherine, Eugenia, Susan, Cynthia, Lisa, Lydia, Debbie, Linda, Sandra, Rose, and of course, Suzanne.

Suzanne and I did, in fact, scream like school girls when we finally got to meet each other in person.
This is one amazing group of fabulous women! I feel like a better person just by being in their presence.

That is my week in review.  I have lots of great content in the works in the coming weeks. I am just too exhausted at the moment to get deep into the business of writing!  But I will be back at it soon. I promise!

And now the featured favorites from last week.

Kellyann of This Blonde’s Shopping Bag shared her post, Friday Favorites #10. Keep reading for the funny story about my sister…

When I picked up sister for our dinner date, she was wearing the same shoes as Kellyann. I said to her, “Ooh. I really like your shoes. But they look really familiar. Where did you get them?” She was all excited when she answered, “Well, they are from Target. But I saw them on a lady’s blog that was on one of your link ups and I had to have them!” So if ever you are in doubt, my blogging friends, about whether or not you are influencing others, you are! My sister is not easy to influence either!  Well done, Kellyann!

Cherie of Style Nudge shared her post, 56 Years Bold, showcasing her Forever Fierce tee shirt. I absolutely adore Cherie’s style and I am now inspired to do a proper photo shoot of my “43 Years Bold” tee shirt! Unfortunately, Cherie couldn’t make it to the meet up, but I am hoping she can make the next one in May!

And Nina of Sharing A Journey wrote an amazing post that is very timely for me as I am struggling with this exact thing right now, Do You Know Your Value? I encourage you to read this post. And I thank Nina for sharing it!
