Inspired by Pink Sole & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #62

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had the most amazing weekend! We spent Saturday evening with great friends, eating, drinking, and laughing until snorts were heard! Yeah, that would have been me. I might have even peed my pants a little. And nearly sprayed wine out of my mouth when an unexpected guffaw caught me off guard. But hey, if you can’t be ridiculous in front of your closest friends, what’s the point really?

*This is a sponsored post.  This necklace was provided to me for purposes of this post.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

On Sunday, the husband and I headed out in different directions each with one kid in tow. These kids have been getting the best of us lately, so “divide and conquer” was our motto this weekend. I enjoyed some shopping and a lunch date at the mall food court with my 6 year old. All at his request, so he was a happy kid, for sure. But now it’s Monday and back to the grind! I actually really do like Mondays. They seem to be my most productive day and I can set my momentum for the entire week with lots of enthusiasm and drive. By Friday, however, I am shot, tired and unmotivated and sort of sludge my through the weekends until I can start fresh again on Monday. Man, how things change as we get older!

Anyway, I am posting my #SpreadTheKindness Link Up a day early because tomorrow I was invited to join the gals for The Ageless Style Link Up, so make sure to stop by and catch all that fun fabulousness tomorrow!

Today’s outfit was inspired by Rachelle of Pink Sole, whom, by the way, also hosts a link party every Monday, so do hop on over and see what’s going on in her world! A few weeks ago, Rachelle styled this exact same kimono on her blog and I instantly fell in love with it. After a few comments were exchanged with Rachelle about the sizing details, I promptly ordered my own. I have to be honest, I don’t do that very often. I am a “clearance hound” (to use Chrissy’s term) so if I am going to pay full price for something, it needs to be something really special. Well, as you can see…this kimono is really freaking special!

*Kimono: Satin Floral Duster Cardigan from Forever 21.

Check out how Rachelle styled it for a night out in sunny Florida.

I followed suit with my distressed denim as well, but living in a much colder climate than Rachelle, I pulled out all the velvet…black velvet tee and green velvet booties. Then I added this pearly statement necklace just to take it a tiny bit over the top…because why the heck not?

*Necklace: Fake Pearl Flower Crystal Beaded Layered Necklace c/o Rosegal.

*Jeans: Torrid Premium Stretch Jegging – Light Wash with Ripped Destruction.

Many of you have been commenting recently about my extensive collection of boots. Thank you for noticing! And because you have noticed, I suppose now is as good a time as any to admit publicly that I am a shoe addict. It is, for real, a serious problem and it has taken over my closet room in a very dramatic way. There are mountains of shoe boxes in there right now that literally come crashing down on my head avalanche style when I try to grab for the pair that I want like I am playing a giant game of Jenga with shoe boxes.  And I usually lose said Jenga game!  I don’t know if that is funny, scary, sad, or just insane. But it is the reality of my addiction. But, I mean, green velvet booties? How could I resist?

*Booties: Denny Booties from Shoe Dazzle.

*Velvet Tee: Old Navy. Similar here and here.

I know many of you have been inspired by other bloggers whether it be in styling an outfit, purchasing a new addition to your wardrobe, or just addressing a topic that touched you in some special way. And that is one of the really amazing parts of this blogging gig! So I do want to take a moment to thank Rachelle for inspiring this outfit and to thank each and every one for you always offering me inspiration of some sort. For you are the ones whom I look to when I am struggling to find my motivation! And that is super important to me. Know that I appreciate you all! Please tell me…whom has inspired you lately and how?
