Indie Week with WatertownFirst and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #28

Happy Independence Day to all of my American friends! On July 1, WatertownFirst kicked off a weeklong celebration of local, independent businesses. WatertownFirst is “an organization of community-minded individuals and independent businesses working together to strengthen our local economy.” This amazing group of volunteers have put together a week long schedule of fun shopping events in Watertown, New York.

*This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Indie Week is “the second annual campaign encompassing the first week of July to engage local independent businesses and citizens in celebrating entrepreneurial spirit and the freedom our local businesses embody.” It also is an occasion to recognize the contributions made by small businesses to the community and to affirm the role of our citizens in shaping our community’s future.

In fact, this Thursday, July 6, Shelbee’s Shoppe will be participating in a special styling and shopping event with EyeCrave Optics and Etnia Barcelona Eyewear. So if you are in the area this Thursday, stop by and check it out between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. in Public Square!

In fact, my most recent post is all about local boutiques! As much as I love my online shopping, there is nothing like a friendly store that’s close by!!

    Lovely cardi.

  7. Both you and Jodie featured local businesses this week! Yay you!
I applaud you efforts to shop Watertown, you inspire me to visit (and maybe bring my mom)!
As you know, “local” in LA is massive. Still, shopping at independently owned shops vs the big chains is important.
    Happy 4th!

    • Thanks so much, Anne! And you just reminded me to go check out Jodie’s post! I was headed there yesterday and I got sidetracked (story of my life!). And yes, please visit us here in little ole Watertown (with your mom)…We will jazz it up a bit…even if it is just for a day or two!!!

    • Suzy, thank you for stopping by and for keeping us inspired! It is my pleasure to feature you and all the other fabulous bloggers that have been featured here as well! You are all an inspiration to me and I am so grateful that you stop by and link up every week. I look forward to reading about your latest venture!

And cat pee is the worst…ugh. Right on you. That would definitely be a very bad day! I have a cat who gorges on his food and then pukes about 5 times right after. He does this once a week like clockwork. Strange creatures and their weird animal habits!

  18. Love the red! Super great for summer!

  19. Sucha great dress shelbee!!! Hope you had a very happy 4th!

  20. Happy 4th of July to you and yet again a GREAT dress
