How to Style a Tie Dyed Neckerchief & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #27

If you know me at all from a style perspective, then you know that scarves are my thing. My favorite accessory ever. The easiest way to add color and interest to any outfit. Although my personal collection of scarves runs in excess of 100 (probably closer to 200, if I am being completely honest), I still cannot pass up a fun and interesting scarf when I see one. And when I saw this adorable tie dyed bandana made by Heather of HomemadeHaven, I simply could not pass it by. I love the deep blues and purples in the dyes she chose. And I thought it would be the perfect accessory for a double denim outfit.

*This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I am just doing my small part in spreading kindness and promoting independently owned small businesses that sell wonderfully unique products with an attention to detail and a passion for creativity.

Heather has been making tie dye creations for many years and is quite the expert in this artistic medium, in my opinion. All of her homemade tie dyed products are upcycled goods and she can and will dye just about anything! She has sneakers and socks and tee shirts and tights and sheets and of course, bandanas.

But her speciality is onesies for babies and she makes the most adorable owl patterns using her own tie dye method with hand painted details.  Look how cute!

She also creates some fabulous traditional tie dye patterns as well.

And for super reasonable prices, you can get yourself one of kind upcycled products that also support an independent woman-owned small business.

In addition to tie dye items, Heather also creates the most amazing mittens from upcycled wool sweaters as well all kinds of other amazing upcycled creations. You can view her gallery of products in her Facebook Photo Gallery. If you see something you love, just contact her through Facebook and she will surely ship to you anywhere in the United States!

And here are some more photos of my double denim outfit and fun new neckerchief!

Have any of you tried the tie dye trend lately? There is a plethora of factory made tie dyed pieces available from many major retailers. But personally, I like the traditional old school handmade tie dyes myself. They make me nostalgic for my younger days when we would make our own tie dyed tees in the kitchen sink. Now in my 40’s, I can’t be bothered with the mess, so I will just acquire these handmade pieces from a local artisan and it’s a win-win. I get the unique and homemade quality that I am looking for and I am supporting a local small business.
