Fat Guy in a Little Coat and My New Green Dress

If you follow me on Instagram, then you have already seen my new green dress…the dress I actually wore on Easter Sunday. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, then you really should! It is super easy to do, I have just provided you with two links so you can just click and follow! In fact, here’s another link that will take you directly to my Instagram account!

Also, if you have been following along, you know that we have recently moved to a smaller house. And I just want to tell you that I feel like a fat guy in a little coat trying to jam 3,000 square feet of stuff into a 2,000 square foot house!

We have gotten rid of a lot of stuff, too. And I did a massive closet clean out which has resulted in 10 huge boxes of clothing and shoes ready to be photographed and posted on Poshmark. So stay tuned for that…I provided the link right to my Poshmark closet (twice) for your ease!

So for the past week, I have been wearing sweatpants and tee shirts (sometimes pajama pants, too) and have been a disheveled mess! No photographs have been taken except for the one which was a result of Amy challenging me to photograph myself in my moving-mess state! But you would have to go check out Instagram if you want to see that one! For blog purposes, I will just share pictures of my put-together self in my new green dress!

Oh, and check out this adorable starfish necklace I just picked up last weekend while visiting Pennsylvania for the Easter holiday. On Saturday I found myself kid-free when the husband and his father took the children shopping. So I spent the afternoon strolling through the town of Jim Thorpe. There are a bunch of cute little shops and I found some great things. This starfish necklace is one of them…I bought it from The Gem Shop, an adorable boutique which is after my own heart (they actually carried some of the same exact pieces that I have in Shelbee’s Shoppe)! They have two locations, one in Jim Thorpe and one in Bethlehem. So if you are ever visiting either place, do stop and check them out!

And I have shown you my green floral shoes from New Chic previously on the blog here, but here they are on my feet.

*This is not a sponsored post. All items were purchased by me and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Anyway, back to my life right now…We still have lots to do in the new house before I can relax and get back into a normal routine. We also have to head over to the old house this week and clean. Moving out really makes all the dirt visible! So I am going to skip my link ups again this week…I do apologize. I am so exhausted and completely overwhelmed.

And here are some family photos from Easter to end the randomness of this post!

Also, remember to submit your Bad Buy photos of jewelry by May 10 for the next episode of The Bad Buy Book!

I look forward to getting back into my blogging routine soon! I will catch up with you all then.

Keeping it on the edge,

  1. I love this dress!! Moving is such a pain!!

  2. Moving is a crazy time, Shelbee so no stress!!
I always find it cathartic to get rid of things, but it’s also hard!!
    Good luck!

    • Thanks, Jodie! It is so hard and the catharsis has not yet set in! Once I am completely settled in and all things have found a home in my home, I will be able to relax!

  3. I love the green and the little details on your shoes! So cute!

  4. Cute dress! You know I love green color and those shoes are cute!
Moving in I suppose will help you downsize I suppose it’s not my favorite thing having to figure out where it goes in a new house. sounds like you did an overhaul though on your wardrobe! I list on PM too.
    Have a great week
    Jess xx

    • Thank you so much, Jess! Downsizing is super hard for me especially when it comes to my wardrobe! And forced downsizing is even harder, I think. I have a feeling as I photograph things for Poshmark, they may make it back into my closet! Ha. The life of a clothes hoarder!

  5. Ah, I missed the announcement of the next installment of The Bad Buy.
    Hmmmm. Jewelry. Hmmmm.

You look very Fresh in your green dress! It’s a good color for you!

  6. love the hi low hem and the fun color!

  7. That colour really suits you Shelbee 🙂

  8. I love the vibrant green dress Shelbee! The shoes and necklace are fab too! Moving is so stressful, and then it takes a while to get used to where everything is. I’m a terrible hoarder too so I can totally sympathise!

    • Thank you, Emma! I am glad that I am not the only hoarder in Blogland! I am quite comfortable in the new house already, but getting used to all of its little differences does take some time!

  9. I would never imagine that you were in the middle of moving houses because you look so fresh and summary in this lovely dress. The shoes are divine

  10. Those floral shoes look so pretty and look great with this green dress! Great look!

  11. Moving is our little bit of hell on earth, isn’t it! You still look fab in your green dress, and sunny smile. xox

  12. This bold green is a fantastic color on you! You should definitely wear it more often!

  13. I use to live in a small place and clutter was not an option. Even though I live in a bigger place, I do not want to live with a lot of clutter!I love your green dress it makes me want to wear mine!

    • Oh, Lanae, the clutter is unavoidable with my two little monsters! That and my clothes hoarding problem! Ha. Thanks so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing your green dress.

  14. Arrrghh. The word “moving” ought to be (1) removed entirely from all versions of the dictionary; and (2) made illegal with the mere mention thereof necessitating an APB. I hope you are hanging in there, friend xoxo

    • Thanks so much, Sheela! My husband and I have been working so hard to get it all done quickly and I think we are just about at a point where I can relax! We have infiltrated every nook and cranny of this house with our things so I would say we are sufficiently settled now. I told the husband last night that I need at a least a year to recover before he even dares drop a “moving bomb” on me again!

  15. What a great dress! You all look so great – such bright colors.

  16. Adore green and you look ready for spring! The shoes and necklace are great additions.

  17. Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. You look great in green.

  18. That’s such a cute little dress and the color is great on you! Love the shoes and the starfish a lot. Personally, I am ‘retired’ and don’t see people very often, so my sweats and tees are what I live in and sleep in, too!

  19. Love the pictures of your beautiful family! If you can call pictures of boys beautiful. 😉

  20. I am following you on IG but your posts haven’t been coming up for me lately. I’d better go like some of your pictures so it will show me your posts again.

I love that necklace, and yeah for mom shopping alone time.

    Thanks for sharing on #FridayFrivolity

    • Yes, Audrey, to definitely need my posts in your feed! Ha! I haven’t been posting all that much lately either with moving, but I will start posting more now! Thanks so much for following me and for stopping by!
