Dressing Up for Easter with Rosegal & Link Up On the Edge #40

I rarely dress up for Easter, maybe once every 4 or 5 years, but this year I may be going all out on my Easter outfit! When I saw this cobalt dress with a swan print available from Rosegal, I knew it had to be mine! To be honest, I was torn between the blue and the red (the blue appears to be sold out now). I have been wanting a red dress for some time now (it shocks me that in my extensive wardrobe there is a not a red dress to be found). But the cobalt blue just kept calling to me as so perfectly Spring-like. And blue is my husband’s favorite color, so I often find myself gravitating to blues.  I love that charming little glimmer in his eyes when I get all dressed up in a striking blue.

*This is a sponsored post. I received this dress from Rosegal in exchange for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love this dress so much! It make me feel so super feminine and flirty. The bold color and gorgeous swan print are so striking that I simply feel like some sort of vintage princess wearing it. The fabric is a lightweight rayon and felt soft and sturdy. The dress is unlined, so I added a blush Swiss dotted tulle skirt underneath to give it a little extra girly flounce!

The dress came with a matching cobalt fabric buckled belt which adds the perfect finishing touch. My only complaint is that the belt loops are positioned way too high. Rather than being right at the waistband, the loops are actually sewn so that if I used them, the belt would go directly across the middle of my bust. So I just didn’t use the loops and placed the belt at my waistline. It stayed in place fine without the loops, but I couldn’t remove the loops without leaving marks on the dress, so I have these awkward unused loops on my sides (see the next photo).

One other thing to always keep in mind when ordering from online retailers is to use the product measurements given not the actual dress size. Especially when ordering from unfamiliar retailers.  Rosegal is an Asian-based clothing retailer, so I have to go strictly by measurements. For reference, I generally wear an XL or an XXL in U.S. sizes. I am wearing a 4XL in this dress.

I was thrilled to have found these cobalt sandals on clearance from Payless for under $15. And I snagged this ivory poofy headpiece from Burlington Coat Factory for $1.99. The sparkly clutch I had bought a while back to go with that formal gown I never got to wear! The necklace was thrifted many years ago and the earrings were a super duper clearance item from Burlington as well.

A silly little side story...I just discovered yesterday that Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style just got a skirt with the same exact swan print! Because great minds share great style…isn’t that how the saying goes?! You can check out Nancy’s skirt here or follow her blog so you don’t miss when she styles her beautiful skirt!  I know that I don’t want to miss that post!

Do you dress up for Easter or are you more of the casual holiday persuasion? Do you celebrate quietly or with huge family gatherings? We are heading to the in-laws for the weekend and then the kids are spending the whole week with Gramma so the husband and I can get all of our belongings moved over to the new house without the hassle of children! Thank God for amazing grandparents.

And now here are your favorite links from last week…

Jill of Doused in Pink shared an adorable outfit combination of mint, navy, and leopard in her post What to Wear with Mint Jean (and Ageless Style Link Up). Doesn’t Jill look amazing and so ready for Spring?!

Yvonne of Funky Forty showed us two gorgeous ways to style pastels in her post How to Style Pastels to Perfection: Ageless Style Link Up. While I am loving both of Yvonne’s outfits in this post, it’s her shoes that have left me in a complete sartorial swoon (both pairs to be clear)!

As always, I thank you all for your continuous support of my blog. I love to see what you are wearing, sharing, and discussing each and every week even if I don’t always get the opportunity to comment on all of the links. Life gets so super busy all too often, doesn’t it? I would love to sit down and spend endless hours reading all of the fabulous blogs on the internet! But it never works out that way for me. Have fun linking and Happy Easter to you (if you celebrate Easter) and Happy Spring to everyone else! Enjoy the sunshine.
