Countdowns of Spring & Link Up On the Edge #36

We are just coming out from under a mountain of snow here in the North Country. I saw on the news that many areas ended up with much less snow accumulation than predicted from this Blizzard of 2017. However, the opposite happened to us. It was predicted that we would have 7-13 inches of snow in our area. Ha! We got in excess of 2 feet! I suppose the upside is that we are accustomed to such huge amounts of snow accumulation anyway. But all the snow had finally melted and there was actual grass to be seen just a few days ago.

As a result of said blizzard, I literally have not gotten dressed or left my house in days. And in anticipation of Spring (it is coming, right?), I thought I would share a Spring outfit with you today.

I took these photos a few weeks ago on a milder day to showcase my Sitting Shoes for our first installment of The Bad Buy Book. If you don’t know what I am talking about, The Bad Buy Book is a fun little series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself where we give you the opportunity to showcase some of your bad purchases.

This outfit I am wearing is featured in our first installment of The Bad Buy Book. I really wanted to share this adorable Ivory Floral Dress with you.  It is available in Shelbee’s Shoppe, by the way.  And it is the perfect dress for Spring, in my opinion. Plus it has pockets! You all know how I love a dress with pockets!

We also have a bunch of countdowns going on in my house right now.

4 days until the official first day of Spring. Although it won’t actually feel like Spring around here probably until May!

5 days until my little one turns 4. He is so excited because his friend in preschool is already 4 and he wants to be “big like Jonah.”

12 days until my husband finally returns home. We are all super excited for this one!  He has been away from us since January 10.

29 days until we begin the process of moving into our new home. We are downsizing a bit and moving just across town. I am excited because the location is much more convenient for all the school drop offs and pick ups! My husband is excited to have less yard to maintain and less rent to pay!

Outfit Details

Who is else in buried in snow out there? Did the Blizzard live up to all its hype in your area?

Now onto your favorites from last week followed by the new link up…

And Amy of Stylin’ Granny Mama shared a collection of her beautiful statement necklaces in her post Awesome Accessories-The Statement Necklace-Long. I absolutely adore her agate necklace!

  1. That dress is gorgeous! The Bad Buy Book sounds hilarious! I love the term ‘sitting shoes’! Too funny, but we all definitely have a pair or two!

  2. Wow…I can’t believe you’re moving—talk about tons to do!!!
Good luck girl—I just did it 1.5 years ago, and I’m hoping it won’t happen for another couple of years!! Although I did love getting rid of a ton of “stuff” (or crap as I like to call it!!)

    • I actually am looking forward to cleaning out, too, Jodie! I dread moving, for sure. But we really do need to go to a smaller (and less expensive) place! I haven’t packed a thing yet either! I am waiting for the husband to get home so he can help me!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

  3. Ha. I’ve seen my cousin’s pictures of the snow. She’s 70 miles south down NY12 from you. But hey, if you wish hard for a green yard, maybe it will manifest (eventually). Heehee.
Loving the BadBuy series, though not sure if I have Evil Pants. I distinctly remember a pair of Evil Hotpants from my youth, and an Evil Romper. Oh wait… I know… I have JUST the pair! Now to find them. Bwhahahaha.

    • Definitely wishing for a green yard right now, Anne! Those little leprechauns have brought no magic here…except a magical blizzard! Ha. Oh…I cannot wait to see what evil pants you speak of!

  4. Love this dress on your Selbee, makes me think of Spring, especially today as we’re having stunning weather. Jacqui

  5. Oh yes I think we all have had a pair of “sitting shoes” at least once in our wardrobes! 🙂

Thank you for the link up!
Hope you are having a wonderful week and you get some nice spring-like weather soon.

    Away From The Blue Blog

    • Mica, thank you so much! I think we may do the sitting shoes theme again if a few months, so if you still have some hiding your closet, it will be the perfect time to show us!

      Have a lovely weekend!

  6. That’s a lot you’ve got going on Shelbee. But also a lot to look forward too. I bet your husband will love you in that dress! Have a great weekend xx

  7. Gorgeous dress Shelbee, you look lovely! It certainly looks like Spring has Sprung even if it doesn’t feel like it (and they say the camera never lies!) Good luck with the move and happy birthday to your little boy 🙂

    Emma xxx

    • Thank you so much, Emma! It looks like Spring in the pictures but now the ground is covered in lots of snow with more in the forecast apparently! Have a lovely weekend.

  8. I am trying to get rid of stuff and it is hard. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful weekend.

    • I hear you, Patrick! There is so much stuff in my house. But I guess moving is the best incentive to start cleaning it out! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

  9. You look really pretty in this outfit; your hair looks great. Thanks for your blog; I enjoy it very much. Have a great day!

  10. Wow! That’s a lot of snow! Sounds like you are having lots of exciting things happening in the coming days & weeks!

    I love this springy look!

Thanks for the link up & Happy Weekend!

    • Thank you, Andrea! So much snow, indeed. I am so done with it but apparently it isn’t done with us! And all these exciting things are a huge source of stress. Ugh! I just want it to be over with. But I am a tough woman so of course I will rock the entire transition like a super hero!

  11. Great spring look Shelbee! Love the dress and the cardigan works perfectly with it. Good luck with your move!!

  12. Love this chic look! I adore the floral dress. Congrats on you upcoming move and thanks so much for featuring me on this link up Shelbee!

  13. I am so happy for you that your husband is coming home soon! That is a perfect spring dress, what a beautiful print and the cardigan is perfect with it! I now receive all kind of stories from woman about their ,,sitting shoes,, . I think we have to do a sitting shoes theme again in a few months!😂😂😂

    • Thanks, Nancy! But 12 days still feels like an eternity until he returns! I am hanging on by a string of sanity. And I agree about sitting shoes…we definitely need to do it again as a theme!

  14. Well you’re certainly ready for it S ! Great look.

  15. Forgot to comment on the move… OMG you’re going to be so busy !!! and its good that by then your husband will be back because you’ll need all the help you can get.

    • I am so overwhelmed by it all right now, too, Lorena! And the husband has 30 days of leave which the entire time will be spent packing and moving. No relaxing around here!

  16. Oh goodness. Moving is something I dread. And cringe each time I hear the very word uttered. For the longest time, I moved so much, I felt as though I was literally living out of suitcases, and it was so not fun. The last time was 5 years ago and I still have unopened cartons laying about. For shame, Sheela GRIN take it easy, ‘kay? These are the sorts of triggers for the most undesirable things xoxo

    • Oh Sheela, you have no idea how much I am dreading it! Actually, it sounds like you probably know exactly how much I am dreading it. So much so that right now I am completely immobilized and doing nothing. I should be packing but I am so tired of being responsible for all of it! So instead I am going to sit and just try to get through the next 12 days until the husband returns. I need to give myself a break…because the universe sure as shit isn’t giving me one! Thanks dear for feeling my pain!

  17. Gorgeous look girl! Love the white jeans and accessories.

  18. I didn’t read your post close enough the first time and I thought these were like today pictures and I was thinking are you kidding me. Your place to my place is not that far apart and look at my yard lol. Lovely outfit

    • That is so funny, Linda! Nope…my yard does not look anything like this right now! And probably won’t again until June! Thanks for stopping by and stay warm, my friend.

  19. Shelbee, I think your dress is so cute! I love the floral pattern and very springy! Yes it will be spring….sometime…soon…I hope! Ha, ha. Thanks so much for the shout out for my blog. I really appreciate that! – Amy

    • Thanks so much, Amy, for the lovely compliment and the encouraging words! And it is my pleasure, as always, to feature my fabulous blogger friends! Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for giving me some hope—love that dress! xo Susan

    • Oh I feel for you, Susan! I am so sick of snow. And it looks like we have snow in our forecast at least 3 out of the next 10 days. I just can’t take it anymore!

Thanks for stopping by and for the lovely compliment!

  24. Love the floral dress! I am such a floral person and love bringing out the pattern in the spring, especially. Thank for hosting!

  25. So jealous that all of your snow melted! Hoping our foot of snow melts soon. I’m loving your spring look, and this floral dress looks beautiful on you!

    • Thanks so much, Rachael! Actually, these photos were from a few weeks ago. The snow all melted just in time for 2 feet to fall on us this week! We are quite buried in snow again. Have a fabulous weekend.

  26. This floral dress is so pretty and perfect for spring! So many good things to be counting down right now, Shelbee. I am glad you are happy to be moving. That much work stresses me out! Have a wonderful weekend.

  27. Pretty dress! I can’t wait till I can wear spring clothes!

  28. Yay! The florals are coming out. I did not even realize that Spring was starting (officially) so soon! Great look. : )

    • Thanks, Ana! It is officially starting,, but we won’t see Spring-like weather where I live until mid-May! So I will contine to layer my florals. Have a fabulous weekend!

  29. you look lovely in this floral dress X happy weekend!

  30. Such a lovely dress Shelbee, love how you have styled it. I am looking forward to wearing my sandals again, just gone a little bit cold again here. Thanks for linking up.

    Camille xo

  32. Hi Shelbee! Lovin’ your spring outfit! I guess you’ll have to put that one away for a little while though 🙁 Good luck with your move and Happy Birthday to your little one 🙂

    • Thanks, Paula! Yep, I definitely have to put all the Spring things in the back of the closet for now. It is just too cold! And forget about cute shoes with all the snow and sludge! And my poor little one has been stricken with the flu so all of the birthday plans we had this weekend were canceled.

  33. Such a cute spring outfit.

  34. All the storms hitting the East Coast are so intense! Not sure how you guys deal with it, but wish I could send you some sunshine! In the meantime, that outfit is showing spring you are ready!
    xo Adri

    • Thanks so much, Adri! I wish you can send some warm weather our way as well! Unfortunately, we still have snow forecasted over the next 10 days at least. It also is not uncommon for us to still get snow in May!

  35. Dear Shelbee, this floral dress ist so amazing. You look great, like spring in person 🙂
I wish you a great sunday. Xo Tina

  36. Look at you Spring it up in such a pretty look. Love that dress and this outfit head to toe. Bravissima (that means ‘excellent’ in Italian). =))
