Camouflage Pants: Inspired Outfit #2 and On the Edge of the Week Link Up #12

This is my second camouflage post inspired by Sheela Writes, The World According to Eve, and Jodie’s Touch of Style from their camouflage collaboration. If you read my post last week, I styled a Camouflage Bandana. This week, in addition to being inspired by Sheela, Eve, and Jodie, I was also inspired by Karen of She Thought She Could So She Did. Karen styled a pink shirt with an olive skirt and I immediately thought I wanted to pair pink with my camo pants.

At first I had coupled a bright pink tee similar in color to Karen’s top and I accessorized with black gladiator sandals and black accented jewelry. But I was so miserable that day in a perimenopausal hell with cystic nightmares taking on lives of their own on my face that I never found the motivation or desire to take any photos. It was a pretty cute outfit minus the acne outbreak! I quickly switched to my pajamas and stayed inside all day.

Camo and pink take 2 happened a few days later and then I just wasn’t feeling the bright pink. I decided to try some blush pink instead. But all in my accessories. I went with a black tee and moto vest then added blush lace up flats, a blush floral scarf, and a blush bag. And I really kind of loved the contrast of the feminine pink and floral against the tougher camouflage and black moto vest.

The hell of the few days previous had passed and my skin had cleared up pretty quickly, so I was feeling much more confident in this outfit. Maybe it was the outfit. Maybe it was the insane hormones going back into hibernation for a few weeks. But either way…it was a much better day.

And because I felt better, my confidence soared and I had an amazing and quite productive day. There are big things in the works…more on that later. Probably much later.

So how do you wear camouflage? I would love to know! And have you been outfit inspired by another blogger lately? I thrive on these inspirations!

  3. Love the camo combo with blush. Sometimes our first ideas on an outfit are not our best when we see the results. Kudos to you on giving the camo and pink idea another try and thanks for hosting.

    • Thanks so much, Rena! It is so funny how sometimes you get an image in your head and then it is just awful when you put it on! And sometimes you try something odd and it looks fantastic! This is why I love playing dress up. HA.

  4. I really like pink and olive together and you wear it well here! πŸ™‚ Accessories are a nice way to add some extra colour and I really like your scarf.

    Andrea’s Wellness Notes

    • Andrea, thank you so much! Now ovulation has set in and the acne is flaring up again…and it itches like crazy! Oh, the struggle is real! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

  13. Love the camo and pink!!

  14. Another cute camo outfit, Shelbee! I love it and hope you have a great weekend!

    • Thank you, Lisa! I have been cooking all day for a “College Football Kickoff Party” that we are hosting tomorrow! I think there may be a food and party hosting post in the works! Have a wonderful weekend!

  15. A camouflage outfit not to hide (sorry, my English is to little to say what I mean)!
I like black and dark colors too and I agree: they need a contrast. I mostly wear one red piece, scarf, necklace, earrings, shoes and a matching bag, backpack or basket must be.
I well know the menopausal problems… had whole three years of insomnia (never more than 2 hours sleep) – in this time I’ve stopped to make outfit photos… Now I get hormones, can sleep again and begin to show my looks, when my sweetheart and I have time tigether for a walk (to rare!)
    Have a nice weekend

    • Mascha, your English is just fine and that is such a lovely compliment! Thank you so much for stopping by. The really bad insomnia has not hit me yet, but I generally awake every night around 2:00 in the morning and have trouble getting back to sleep. And I think time with my sweetheart is super rare, too!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    • Thanks for inspiring me to go outside of my camo comfort zone, Karen! I almost always just wear black with it. I really need to put the bright pink on again with the camo and take some pictures…because that was really the inspiration I got from your bright pink top and olive skirt! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

  20. Love the layering with this vest! The scarf add the perfect pop of feminine to these cool camo pants. Amazing look!

    • Thank you so much, Kathrine! I am trying to get away from always wearing black with camo! I really should have taken pictures with the bright pink top. I guess next time! Have a wonderful weekend!

    xx, Elise

  26. Aw,
    Thanks for featuring my photo!

  27. Camo + pink is my go to, although yesterday I wore camo pants with a floral bomber jacket so I suppose camo + girly in general is the way I go. Sorry about the hormones…they are truly hellish at this stage of life. The zits sometimes look like I’m growing a second head…lol!

    • Thank you, Debbie, for the chuckle! As I am currently ovulating and the zits are making quite the itchy and disgusting appearance again! I used to laugh at “old” ladies when I was younger and they would complain about menopause. Holy sh*t! It really is not funny at all! (Well, maybe a little…but still it is a wretched hell).

Camo and floral, you say?! I am intrigued! And I usually pair black with my camo (I am trying to branch out) and I have a black floral bomber in my closet…I may have to give it a try!

      Have a fabulous holiday weekend!

  28. You rock those camouflage pants Shelbee. This outfit is casual but fun and great to transition into Fall. I love the vest.

    • Thank you, Ada! I am so ready to layer on long sleeves now, too! Where the heck is the cool fall weather?! I keep getting these little teaser days…like today is about 72 degrees and cooler outside but still very humid and warm inside. I want to cozy up in front of my fireplace! But our forecast says highs 80s all next week. Ugh. I am so over it!

      Have a fabulous weekend!

  29. Cute vest! And I own that exact same pair of shoes too!

  30. You look lovely! I like the pants! πŸ˜€

  31. Cute lace up shoes! They look like a blush color and I love it! I get inspo from The Red Closet Diary a lot!

    • Thanks so much, Ruth! They are a blush color, but I think they called them nude. Jalynn of Red Closet Diary is fabulous! She is super stylish and I often find inspiration from her, too. Did you see her latest post that she has opened a boutique? How exciting! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

  32. You look great in camo and I love that scarf, it is so unique with the tassels. I have a pair of camo pants and I am always looking for new ways to style them!

    • Thanks so much, Carrie! I almost always wear black with my camo for some reason. So blush and pink were a bit out of my comfort zone! But I just saw Tif from Bright on a Budget styled camo with white and I really like it! So I am thinking bright is the way to go with camo! I look forward to seeing how you style your camo pants. And this scarf I fell in love with and it was on clearance for like $6!

      Have a fabulous weekend!

  33. Love the camo pants. I just got a camo tee shirt from Target for $7. πŸ™‚ Your link up party is getting so big. Super fun!! xx-S

    • Shannon, thanks so much! I need to go get that camo tee from Target! I have seen it on a few bloggers and I literally had it in my hand and put it back…it’s probably gone by now! Grrrr….

And thanks for linking up! My link up is growing every week because so many fabulous bloggers like yourself are super supportive and keep coming back. It is so exciting!

      Have a fabulous weekend.

  34. This combination looks great! I like the mix of floral and blush with the black and camo. Hard and soft is a favorite of mine. I always enjoy styling my camo pants with graphic tees and blazers, chambray, leopard, and blush. Glad you are feeling much better, Shelbee.

    • Thank you, Jennie! I have always stuck with just black with my camo, so this is definitely branching out for me. I love your ideas, too! I have to keep those in mind. Have a fabulous weekend!

  35. Great look Shelbee, love your shoes πŸ™‚

  36. Hi Shelbee, I don’t own anything camo, but am looking to get some olive green trousers. This I plan to wear with pink! I’m feeling dusky pink now – and hope I find lots of pieces in these colours. Jacqui

    • Jacqui, I love dusty pink or like a dusty rose. That would look amazing with olive green! I look forward to seeing what you pair together. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  37. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week.

  38. I love this look – and those shoes are just so cute!

Thanks so much for sharing over at #FridayFrivolity πŸ™‚

  39. Loving the camoflauge pants, I have a pair in olive that arent camo, but similar. Love the shoes too, did you get those at the Nordie Sale? Perfect way of styling your scarf!
