The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Metallics

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

This month’s theme is Metallics. So let’s get straight to all the shiny things!

First is my gorgeous co-host Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style sharing a lovely metallic sparkly jumpsuit.

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“I love this glittery metallic jumpsuit! Never thought I would, but like a lot of items, metallics are addictive! It was gifted to me, so let’s name it a Good Gift!”

Next is the super stylish Sheila of Ephemera sharing her magnificent gold leather pants.

Sheila of Ephemera

“These are my Free People rose gold leather pants. I bought them in Portland, Oregon, in 2017 for $129.00 US. They are fully-lined, have an elastic waist at the back (careful not to crack-a-lack)! I always have to wear a top that covers my ass…ets! Ha ha!), and best of all, nice deep pockets. They are really comfortable.”

Now we have the fabulous Michele of @seechele_styles with her Good Buy metallic bag.

Michele of @seechele_styles

“Gold Metallic Lily Pulitzer tote was definitely a good buy.”

Next up is the lovely Laura of I do deClaire sharing her good buy metallic shoes.

Laura of I do deClaire

“These metallic loafers were a good buy. They are a pretty rose gold color and great for all seasons.”

And now we have the beautiful Lesley of Jodie’s Touch of Style also sharing good buy metallic shoes.

Lesley of Jodie’s Touch of Style

“Sending over a photo of Lesley with her metallic sandals. She absolutely adores these sandals because they go with everything and are so comfy (because they are Walking Cradles!!)”

Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

Let’s move on to dazzling Rena of Fine Whatever sharing her good buy metallic footwear as well.

Rena of Fine Whatever

“Three years ago, I was inspired to seek out and buy metallic loafers after meeting a very stylish woman who wore her classic white tee and jeans ensemble with a similar pair. Hers were a lovely shade of pewter and Gucci (which was way out of my price range). I was thrilled to find these look-alikes and opted for gold. Although I’ve not worn them much, I still consider these beauties to be a “good buy”. In their first appearance on my blog in September of 2017, I created a Fall ready look with a sleeveless sweater worn over a white tunic.”

Next is the lovely Leslie of Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After with some her favorite metallic items.

Leslie of Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After

“I love metallics and didn’t realize I have as many pieces as I do until now.  Apparently, most of my metallics are things I wear in the winter. So I need to get some summery metallics. Wish I could find a metallic sleeveless sweater. Going to start looking now!!”

And now we have the beautiful Jacqui of Mummabstylish with her metallic boots.

Jacqui of Mummabstylish

“With my monochrome black outfit I paired silver metallic boots and a cute pale blue with metallic stars on. Quite an old photo featured on the blog ages ago!”

Jacqui of Mummabstylish

And finally some of my favorite good buy metallic pieces.

Original Post

“I found this gold lace bodycon dress at a local thrift shop for just a few dollars. I loved the way I felt wearing it but I have only ever worn it once for a blog photo shoot. But it is a good dress to have on hand for fancy events and for the price, it was definitely a good buy even if I only wear it a few times.”

And next are just a few of my favorite good buy metallic shoes! I simply cannot resist footwear that is shiny!

“All of my metallic footwear has been good buys. From top left corner going clockwise…Black and Gold Sequined Booties from JustFab/Silver Brogues from Burlington Coat Factory/Silver Sparkly Sneakers from Target/Silver Oxfords from DSW (Madden Girl)/Pink Metallic Sandals from Charlotte Russe/Gold Brocade Booties from JustFab.”

I had to go scouting to find more metallics after this!! I do have more than I thought in my closet. Now I’m inspired to pull them out. In fact, I just bought some rose gold sandals.
Thanks for putting this together. I love seeing everyone,

Jodie, thanks so much for joining us! This is always so fun for us to put together and I love seeing what everyone sends us! Rose gold sandals sound delicious! I think I want more metallic clothing. I clearly have enough pairs of metallic shoes! Haha. Have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks so much, Rena! That photo is from, well, about 10 pounds ago when I could pull off the bodycon dress! Now to get back to that place. Haha. I am so glad that you could join us this month! I am loving all the shiny metallic things, too. Up next…blazers! Have a great weekend.

How fabulous does Sheila look in those gold pants! I adore metallics – those pink brogues in your selection make me drool! Thanks for linking at #WowOnWednesday.

  • Sheila (of Ephemera)

Oh, you are killing me with all this shiny SHINY metallic, Shelbee! I love seeing all of these wonderful items. You look sexay in that metallic dress, and I’m agog at all the metallics you own. I have a ton as well – it was hard limiting myself to just my gold leather pants. Thank you so much for featuring me!

Sheila, thanks so much! I do love all the shiny shiny things, too! Your gold leather trousers are so amazing! I wish I had more metallic clothing. Most of metallics seem to be footwear. I am so glad that you joined us again this month. Hopefully, you have some blazers to share for September’s theme! Have a fabulous week!

Fun metallic pieces! Never got to it this month: feeling a little overwhelmed the past week or two with getting ready for this hybrid schedule and not wanting my kids to think the 3 days at home are just vacation! They actually will end up with 3 day weekends really since Mondays are catch up days so the other 2 days, I will supplement the teachers’ packets they will be sending home. Plus still blogging and life…

Thanks, Mireille! And I totally understand. I am feeling a bit frantic myself with this hybrid schedule. My kids will be going to school on Mondays and Thursdays for full days and then remote learning from home on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. But if I can keep my little monsters on track, we may be able to have one of the at home learning days be a free day completely. After all these months since this whole thing began, I am no more prepared for homeschooling my children than I was in March! Although I do not have to buy any school supplies this year which is nice. Our PTO had so much extra cash that had to be spent because all of the field trips and everything last year never happened, so they are purchasing all of the necessary school supplies that we are normally responsible for purchasing. So that was one bright side to this whole mess! One day at a time is all we can do. Plus blogging and life! I hear that! Stay sane, my friend.
