Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series co-hosted with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it, you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

And now without further delay, let me share with you the Leather items that have been submitted this month. Also, remember to visit Nancy’s Fashion Style as well to see some more leather styles! Hopefully, you will find some inspiration from the fabulous ladies who have shared their personal picks crafted from leather or faux leather.

And let me start with my wonderful co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style, with her Good Buy leather jacket.

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“I chose two jackets for this theme because I grew up wearing leather jackets! Bought my first one at 15 and wore it to pieces. Always have loved them and this one goes with everything!”

Next is Mireille of Chez Mireille with her Good Buy leather cowboy boots.

Mireille of Chez Mireille

“My only real leather item in my closet! My cowboy boots that I bought myself one birthday 4 to 5 years ago! I love these but should really wear them more often! Cost per wear is still pretty high but they will last forever!”

And now Nancy of Jodie’s Touch of Style with her Good Buy leather skirt.

“I’m including my stepmom’s photo for the leather theme since she hasn’t been included on our recent blog posts!! I love that we all have leather skirts that my mom made for us! They are so versatile.”

Next is Rosemary of Distinctly Southern Style with her Good Buy faux leather leggings.

“I purchased these Spanx Faux Leather Leggings late winter and they have totally been a great buy! Currently, I am waiting for cooler temps to arrive and I know that I will be wearing them a lot this coming season especially at holiday time.”

Sheila of Ephemera shared her Good Buy leather pants.

Sheila of Ephemera

“Most people don’t realize these pants are actual leather. They have nice deep pockets and an elastic waist, they’re fully-lined, and they get more comfortable the more I wear them – and I plan on continuing to wear these as I ease into my 50s. These have been a Good Buy!”

Next is Sonja of Beauty So Me with her Good Buy leather and faux leather pieces.

Sonja of Beauty So Me

“Leather or fake… it doesn’t matter to me, I love it! And recently I bought a leather skirt, my second black one, because I gained 5 pounds!”

Now we have Jacqui of Mummbstylish with her Good Buy faux leather jacket.

Jacqui of Mummabstylish

“I have attached my photo of my much loved faux leather jacket that I received for Christmas last year. It really does complete many of my outfits and I love wearing it. It came from Wallis, and I dropped a multitude of hints for hubby to buy it for me. You can imagine I was very ‘surprised’ when I opened it!”

Now we have a loyal reader and great friend of mine, Debbie, with her Good Buy leather boots.

Debbie, one of my fashionista friends and blog reader

“Purchased these boots (Guess) at DSW. Found them on the clearance rack for $23! Couldn’t resist purchasing them. I’m a sucker for a set of black sexy boots! This was NOT a good but but a GREAT buy!”

And finally, my Good Buy faux leather moto jacket.

Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

“My black faux leather moto jacket is a really Good Buy. This was gifted to me by Zaful and I have worn it so many times in so many different ways. I love the asymmetrical zipper front and the fitted style. It is also lightweight enough to wear indoors as an outfit completer piece.”

And now hop on over to Nancy’s post to see some more Leather styled by some pretty fashionable ladies!

The theme for November will be Silk. So send us some of your favorite (or least favorite) pieces crafted from this luxurious fabric. It doesn’t have to be 100% genuine silk, you can also submit pieces that are satin or just silky in nature. It is a great fabric to style for the holidays in beautiful jewel tones or black and white. Whether you love or hate the silky pieces residing in your closet, we want to see them!

Send your photos with a few sentences describing your Good Buy or Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlight! Please submit your photos with a brief description by the 10th of November to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com.

*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

Now the featured favorites from last week.

Melody of Melody Jacob sent me flying back over 30 years ago to a time when I would raid my grandfather’s closet for his oversized plaid blazers. Check out her edgy styles in her post 4 Ways to Style Oversized Boyfriend Blazers.
