The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Handbags

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series co-hosted with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). We will keep purchasing Bad Buys every now and then for a variety of reasons…it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted (needed) to buy something, it fit almost quite right. But, of course, we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday and every time you wear it, you get that nostalgic holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

And now without further delay, let me share with you the Handbags and Purses that have been submitted this month. Also, remember to visit Nancy’s Fashion Style as well to see some more bags! Hopefully, you will find some inspiration from the fabulous ladies who have shared their stylish ways of carrying things.

First up is my lovely co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style with two Good Buy handbags.

“This bag was custom made for me 11 years ago when I started working in the fashion store. I always carried this bag with me as it was large enough to take everything with me that I wanted. It is leather and I love the gold colored fitting on it.”

“This clutch is a crocodile print and it is just a cheap one from years ago. I liked it a lot. But now I only use one bag because I always have to take my concentrator with me. It’s a shame because I love bags and would love to have a designer piece!”

Next is our very loyal and supportive friend, Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style, with her adorable Good Buy lunch box as a handbag!

“The funniest thing is how I’ve changed 100% loving purses  since blogging. Who would have thunk that I’d be carrying a lunch box as a purse?? LOL”

Now is the lovely Sabina of Ocean Blue Style by Manderley with her bold red bag.

“Before starting blogging more than ten years ago handbags were literally non-exitent in my closet. As you can imagine this has changed 🙂 The little red crossbody is one of my favorites. Found it in Manhattan ages ago when we were staying in the city like we used to in fall for my birthdays. It is not a luxury brand but warms my heart every time I wear it. Because it brings back memories of the time the hubster and I spend together, in a city I quite adore and – red symbolizes the happiness.”

Next we have my dear friend, Michelle of My Bijou Life, with her Good Buy bag.

“This purse came from Tatyana’s Boutique. The shop is all about retro fashion. Notice the old fashioned clasp on top? I can remember my mother having purses with this type of clasp when I was a little girl – about 50 years ago. I love the bow embellishment too. And adore the leopard interior. As cute as it is, the thing that made it a good buy was the markdown. The purse started out at $56. While I may have admired it at this price, I would not have purchased it at that price. At some point they marked it down to $25. But I didn’t see it then. Then I received an email from Tatyana’s about their 60% off sale. That made this purse $10.  I didn’t think twice. This is the largest purse I have. I think it will be perfect when we travel as that’s when I want to carry extra items in purse. And black goes with everything. No other purses necessary.”

Up now is my wonderful friend, Mireille of Chez Mireille, with a Good Buy handbag.

“This is one of two of my favorite handbags right now. I love that it can be worn over the shoulder and crossbody which is really practical for running errands with kids. I also like that not to many people have this bag. It is from Modcloth and was recommended by another blogger. I have greatly reduced my collection of bags but this one is here to stay!”

The lovely Jacqui of Mummabstylish shared one her favorite new Good Buy bags.

“Here’s one of my favourite new bags. I love a cross-body and as tan goes with so much this will be used so much over the next months. It’s from Oasis and is big enough for essentials without being over-the-top.”

And now I have two bags to share. One is a really Good Buy and the other not so much.

“I bought this BedStu messenger bag many years ago because I love the brand and their distressed leather products and I need a smaller crossbody bag for travel. This is the perfect size and goes with everything. I have used it so much that it is starting to tear at the seams. I definitely need to find someone to repair it for me because it still has many years left in it.”

”I am not so sure I love this fringed backpack. I picked it up on clearance at Charming Charlie a few years ago while I was traveling and I needed a backpack for convenience. I wasn’t a huge fan of the color or the fringe at the time but it was the only backpack I could find at the last minute. I do use it occasionally when I need a backpack so I will hold on it but it definitely was not the best purchase I have ever made.”
