I ordered my very first pair of shoes from UrbanOG sometime around 2006 and they just died about 2 weeks ago…after 11 years of wear. These black gladiator sandals were a favorite of mine for over a decade and I can’t lie…I almost cried as I carefully placed them into the trash can. But they simply fell apart beyond repair.

I have featured these sandals on my blog multiple times here and here. I even wore these for my wedding reception in 2010.

I suppose I can’t complain about the quality though. They were under $20 over a decade ago and lasted this long. They served me well. But now it is time to find some new ones. Although I cannot find sandals exactly these, here are some of my favorite gladiator sandals from UrbanOG.

My Favorite Gladiator Sandals

1. Strappy Studded Lace Up Gladiator Flat Sandal ($34.20).

2. Metallic Rings and Knots Gladiator Sandal ($12.40…Very limited sizes left).

3. Liliana Pom Pom Charm Lace Up Gladiator Flat Sandal ($10.60…Very limited sizes available).

4. Bamboo Studded Suede Lace Up Gladiator Flat Sandal ($20.80…Very limited sizes available).

5. Bamboo Velvet Spiral Leg-Wrap Flat Sandal ($23.80…Limited sizes available).

I also am currently loving the block heel trend in shoes. I love the height provided and the block heel is so much easier to walk on.

My Favorite Block Heel Sandals

2. Wild Diva Lounge Open Toe Floral Embroidery Straw Chunky Heel ($31.10).

4. Bamboo Floral Print Ruched Velvet Slingback Chunky Mule Heel ($31.40).

But I also have recently been rocking my skinny heels for that extra added sass and edge. Check out these crazy amazing shoes that I got from UrbanOG many years ago. I don’t have these shoes anymore either, but I wish I did!

Nice selection! I love all the block heel sandals, especially the pink ones in the main photo and the B/W striped ones. I had a pair of knee length leather Nine West wedge boots that I lived in, they were so comfortable. But when Isobel was a baby I did so much bending and kneeling down that the moulded rubber soles split right across. I took them to a cobbler but they can’t be fixed. I still can’t bring myself to throw them away, especially as I wore them all through my pregnancy. I know it’s silly to be so attached to boots but I keep hoping one day I might be able to get them repaired!

Emma, thank you so much for sharing this story about a very special pair of boots! It was seriously difficult to place those sandals in the trash can so I get that feeling of not being able to throw away a silly old pair of broken shoes! I totally get attached to things like that. But I am working on it. You will throw them away when you are ready…or maybe you will just keep them forever! And that’s okay, too.
