Wednesday Wish List: Valentine’s Party Dresses from D-Daydress
I swear I had no intention of jumping right off the Christmas and New Year springboard into the disgustingly sweet pool of all things Valentine’s Day. But then I stumbled upon these adorable vintage-inspired party dresses from D-Daydress and I kind of couldn’t help myself. I mean, seriously, what is better than a vintage-inspired dress made of lace and tulle and appliqué with the cutest full skirt for extra flirtiness and sass? Not much, in my opinion! I would totally don one of these beauties for a date night with the sole intention of turning some heads and proving to everyone that I will wear what I damn well please! I don’t care if I am 43, these dresses are screaming to my inner beauty queen and I really kind of want one…or six.
*This is a not sponsored post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
As I am sharing these dresses with Valentine’s Day in mind, I have to admit that I have never been a fan of Valentine’s Day at all and what it represents. The mass consumerism around it always seemed so silly to me. Also, I do not believe in celebrating your love more intensely on one designated day of the year. I want to celebrate it every day!
But the one special day that I would love to celebrate is our wedding anniversary, however, this has been a challenge since the very first one! January 23 will mark 8 years of marriage for me and my soldier. And this year will be the 6th anniversary that we cannot spend together due to military obligations! It has sort of become a joke to us now. Every January, he has to travel somewhere…whether it be overseas on deployment or somewhere stateside for training, we have only been able to spend 2 out of 8 anniversaries together and one of those two, I was enormously pregnant so we enjoyed a quiet dinner at home that was prepared by our best friend.
As we are tracking right now, the same thing will happen next year on our wedding anniversary. But then, my husband will retire and we are looking forward to our 10th anniversary and the possibility that we can actually spend the day together. I am thinking something super special needs to happen in celebration of that day! I should start planning now. And I would love your suggestions!
So I guess I might also need one of these pretty dresses to put away for that special day!
I would love to hear from you in the comments…which is your favorite of these dresses? Would you wear a fancy party dress like this to celebrate Valentine’s Day? And what fabulous ideas do you have for me to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary (even though it is 2 years away)?
I have not ordered yet from D-Daydress, but most of their dresses can be customized with size and color specifications. Because the orders are custom-made, you need to allow time for the tailoring and processing of your dress, so order now if you have Valentine’s Day in mind! They do ship to most countries worldwide. I hope you enjoyed this post. Happy shopping!

These dresses are so pretty, total princess dresses! I always said my hubby and I would take like a second honeymoon on our tenth wedding anniversary. Well that was last year and we didn’t do it! Lol maybe this year!

Oh my gosh, I want one of these dresses but where in the heck am I going to wear this??? Maybe around the house for myself so I can feel all kinds of special!
Bummer about the anniversary and being apart. We never do anything super special on ours and we’ve been married 23 years! We keep saying we’re going to get away together and then we never do, honestly now that our boys are older it seems like it’s just is two most of the time anyway. I hope you celebrate your anniversary on an alternate date and do something fabulous!

Thanks so much, Kellyann! I would totally wear one of these dresses just around for the heck of it! We did go out for dinner during the holidays while visiting family. My mother in law kept the kids for us. That’s usually what happens every year…we know that he will be leaving some time in January, so while visiting family, we take advantage of the free babysitting and have a date night…and we call it our anniversary dinner. We often do date nights at home, too, once the kids are in bed!

I’m so sorry that you’re husband will be gone for your anniversary! My youngest daughter’s husband is in the Army and they don’t really know what to expect in the next few years to come! I just hope that he doesn’t get deployed, but he is infantry and young. Anyway, the dresses…how in the world will you every choose because they are all so fabulous! I scrolled through to choose my favorite and just couldn’t pick one. As always, loved your post!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Suzanne, thank you so much! I can’t choose just one of these dresses either! I also want to say thank you to your daughter and son-in-law for their service. I have to say this…it is quite the life! It definitely has its challenges but then you realize how strong you really are. The military community, in my experience, is so supportive as well. One thing I have learned for sure, is that nothing is for sure! Deployments happen, sometimes they get changed or canceled. I never plan for my husband’s departure until I am kissing him goodbye at the airport! By the way, I have a really great guest post that I will be publishing within the next few days talking about a self-care package for military spouses…perhaps your daughter would appreciate it! And send her my best as a fellow infantry wife! It is a crazy ride, but so worth it!

Oh I would totally wear one of those just for the sake of it. The red lace is beautiful. Sorry to hear about the anniversary though, that is a bit of bummer

Thanks, Molly! It is a bummer but we always make the best of it and laugh it off! I am having a hard time choosing my favorite of the 6 I featured, but I think the red ones are front runners for me, too. Thanks for stopping by!

These dresses are gorgeous. Wish I had an event to wear one too. We are pretty casual on Valentine’s Day

I am glad you like them, Michelle! We don’t do much for Valentine’s Day at all, but I still would love a dress like this for some special occasion or for no occasion at all! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

I love that red one close to the end. The black and off-white lace one is also really nice. I’d love to have one, whether I’d have the guts to wear it or not…debatable.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Oh my goodness, Penelope, you don’t need guts to put on a fabulous dress like this! You just need to fake some confidence, smile big, stand tall, and rock the heck out of it! My mantra is “great things happen outside of your comfort zone”! Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my picks! Have a fabulous weekend.

I am so impressed by these dresses!!! Especially the first one!
(Do you think I´d upstage a bride if I wore one of these as a guest in a summer wedding?) I´m off to do some browsing at d-daydress.com!

Oh my, wish I was invited to a big gala just so I could wear this http://www.d-daydress.com/ombre-floral-organza-rainbow-puffy-strapless-ball-gown-princess-tiered-evening-dress-itemne0083.html !!!

Oh my goodness, Helen! It’s like a rainbow unicorn gown! I love everything about this dress. I would totally wear this, too, if I had an occasion for it. Thank you for sharing it with me!

Hi Helen! I was just thinking about you the other day! I hope you are well. I think if the bride is super formal, one of these dresses would not upstage her. If the wedding is more casual and the bride is in more of a sundress type of gown, then maybe these might be too dressy. But I would probably go for it anyway! I don’t think it is really possible to upstage a bride anyway since all eyes are on her that day regardless of what anyone is wearing! If you do end up getting one of these, do let me know which one! They are all so gorgeous.
