How to Style a Kimono 2 Ways &#SpreadTheKindness Link Up #169
My well of inspiration is running dry these days spent in lockdown mode. Since I draw my inspiration and motivation from human connections and my experiences in the world, it was only a matter of time before I ran out of things to say and topics to discuss that I haven’t already discussed a million times over. I have been digging through my old journals and finding lots of gems in there that have inspired a few pieces of writing, the most recent being Sunday’s post, Sunday Sillies: The Diarrhea Song. As much as I enjoy potty humor, it is not always appropriate and it can get tiresome very quickly.…

Winter Boho Style & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #157
This is going to be a super short post today because this stomach bug that’s been going around has completely knocked me on my ass. It started on Wednesday morning with Ralphie (so no Radical Ralphie post this week), then it got Archie. By Saturday we were all feeling pretty good. Then we got hit by the snowstorm that swept over about one third of the country which kept us inside for the weekend. I breathed a sigh of relief thinking I had escaped the plague. But alas, I was not so lucky. I woke up Monday morning with severe nausea, aches and pains, fever and chills, and I literally…

Inspired by Fashion Fairy Dust & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #78
I know. I know. Another kimono. But I have to tell you a story. You already know that my favorite summer outfit formula is a kimono and jean shorts. But I bet you didn’t know that this outfit combination paired with booties has been inspired by my dear friend Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust. About a week and a half ago, she shared this amazing kimono outfit with booties on Instagram. Now I have seen shorts and booties styled together before and I always love it, but Debbie’s vibe is so my jam that I literally gasped with delight when I saw this outfit. And it stuck in my head…

Chico’s current initiative is challenging women everywhere to stand proud and bold in their years of acquired wisdom. Age is nothing but a compilation of your many fantastic, painful, marvelous, awesome experiences on this earth. And it is time for us stand firmly in the dignity of our years. For it is those years that have taught us everything that we know. And the more years we have in our arsenal of experience, the more fulfilled and appreciative we become of all the years yet to…

Facing My Fears at the Chico’s NYC Meet Up
I am a midlife fashion and lifestyle blogger. I share photographs of myself online and on social media. I have shared photographs of myself styling corsets. And just this week, I shared pictures of myself in my underwear. In a magazine. I write about sensitive and taboo topics such as mental illness, pre-menopause, sex, and pornography. I occasionally and strategically use words like fuck and vagina when I am going full force for shock value. *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I have been called brave. I have been told that I have guts. It has been said that I do things…

Is Kindness a Dying Virtue? And #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #29
What is kindness? The act of being kind. The adjective kind in reference to a person is defined by Merriam-Webster as this: “of a sympathetic or helpful nature.” Dictionary.com defines kind this way: “of a good or benevolent nature or disposition; indulgent, considerate, or helpful; humane.” Wikipedia refers to kindness as a virtue and references religion, ancient philosophy, and various cultural beliefs as a context for kindness. From Wikipedia: “Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and a concern for others. It is known as a virtue, and is recognized as a value in many cultures and religions (see ethics in religion). Aristotle, in Book II of his…
