Don’t Let the Feelings Choke You
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I have a long, disturbing history with Bipolar Disorder. Through countless hours of therapy, endless cocktails of psychotropic medications, measureless pools of tears, and unfathomable depths of darkness for more than a decade of my life, I somehow found my way to the other side, to a brighter life, to the life I had always wished for. And through this process not only have I discovered myself, but I also learned some very effective coping skills. Being proud of myself for how far I have come in the healing process, I like to share what I have learned…

I Made It Even Better and On the Edge of the Week Link Up #7
A few weeks ago, I was completely inspired by a post by Rachel of Garay Treasures when she published her Re-Purposed Old Jewelry Leaf Necklace Tutorial. While Rachel was re-furbishing a very old necklace, it struck me that I had a very new necklace that needed some help! In fact, it was my favorite long silver double tassel necklace that I had picked up last year from Cato Fashions. And when I say it was my favorite, I mean I wore it at least 3 times a week. And when all other necklaces failed to add fabulous to an outfit, I reached for this one. However, being a stay at…

GlobeIn Collaboration: Hydrate Box Review
When I was first contacted by GlobeIn (via my MOMS Club) about a collaboration, I have to admit that I had never heard of the company and had to first conduct some research before considering the offer. But what I found totally impressed me and I was completely on board. GlobeIn is a company dedicated to supporting artisans from around the world and especially those in third world countries. It is their mission to provide these artisans with a global audience so they can make a living producing their handcrafted goods. The end result of purchasing goods from GlobeIn is the reduction of poverty in these countries. In addition, all…

A Week of the Blues and On the Edge of the Week Link Up
I have been feeling kind of blue lately. And apparently, my clothes reflect my mood because I’ve been wearing a lot of blue lately. I don’t have much else to say about it…except I need to feel the feels no matter how uncomfortable they are. So that’s what I’ve been doing…feeling blue, looking blue, and hoping it passes soon. Outfit details: Tee Shirt: Old Navy Oversized Tee in Ancient Mariner (currently on sale for $6.97, but only XL is left online) This tee was a gift from my friend, Amy, and I absolutely love the color and the loose fit! Jeans: Old Navy (It doesn’t look like the gray distressed…

A New Twist on an Old Tunic
I bought this tunic last year from Old Navy but I never wore it much because every time I put it on the length and volume overwhelmed my body to the point of complete frumpiness! I really wanted to wear this top though the other day because it was pouring rain and I loved the pattern paired with my pink and black floral rain boots. I thought if I layered it over leggings and added my boots, it would look more like a cute dress. But again, frump-ville. So I started playing with the front of the tunic in an attempt to give it some shape. First I knotted it…

I’m in Love with This Dress
I’m going to make this a short and sweet outfit post. No deep thought-provoking concepts or ideas. Just plain old let’s talk about the clothes. I am seriously in love with this dress. Here are the reasons: 1. It’s a fit and flare. 2. The fabric is a little thicker so it does not hug in the places I don’t want it to hug. 3. It flares just right. 4. It has pockets. 5. The length is just right…it hits just above the knee, so not frumpy and not inappropriately short. 5. It’s purple. 6. The print is subtle enough to make pattern mixing easy. 7. It can go in…

Vanity or Sanity?
I have been struggling with the idea that fashion blogging carries a connotation of vanity. I mean, I take great care styling my outfits in the morning and taking photos of myself and then posting them on the internet for strangers to view. I suppose many would consider that vain. As a result, I was hesitant even before I started my blog. And I had to come to grips with that view. But it has been a struggle for me. I’m not one who generally feels the need to justify my actions, but for some reason with this blog, I do feel that need. So I had to look inside…

Spring Favorite (and My Husband’s Favorite, Too): Tee Shirt Dress and Sneakers
I have been seeing a bunch of posts featuring the most adorable tee shirt dresses paired with sneakers. And I find myself repeatedly commenting how this is one of my favorite outfits for spring and summer. Then I realized I never wrote a post showing how wear this combination. So here is my post! I wore this outfit a few weeks ago to take the kids to a local event called “Touch a Truck.” A small nearby town hosted this fundraiser event where they set up all sorts of vehicles for children to climb through and explore. There were fire trucks, a dump truck, a garbage truck, a paramedic van,…
