Inspired by Curated by Jennifer: Linen Dress and Flowerless Fields
We have just had a few weeks of unseasonably warm weather here in the North Country and so I took full advantage of the opportunity to recreate this cool outfit that Jennifer of Curated by Jennifer shared last month. In her post, Linen Dress and Flower Fields, she wore a gorgeous white linen sundress with a black moto jacket, black boots, and a black hat. I just love the stark contrast between black and white as well as the pairing of a feminine white dress with edgy black accessories. While I was styling my own version of Jennifer’s outfit, I realized that out of the hundreds of pairs of shoes…

Little White Dress
The little black dress (LBD) has been a closet necessity for most women over the past century since Coco Chanel introduced a photograph of a simple short black elegant dress in Vogue in 1926. Vogue called the dress “Chanel’s Ford” drawing a comparison to Ford’s Model T, in that a little black dress provided a simple, accessible, and affordable option for women of all social classes. The LBD has become an iconic representation of a classic, long lasting, and versatile wardrobe essential for women worldwide. But what about the little white dress? Once reserved for brides (or young girls receiving first communion), the little white dress (LWD) has taken on…

Winter Boho Style & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #157
This is going to be a super short post today because this stomach bug that’s been going around has completely knocked me on my ass. It started on Wednesday morning with Ralphie (so no Radical Ralphie post this week), then it got Archie. By Saturday we were all feeling pretty good. Then we got hit by the snowstorm that swept over about one third of the country which kept us inside for the weekend. I breathed a sigh of relief thinking I had escaped the plague. But alas, I was not so lucky. I woke up Monday morning with severe nausea, aches and pains, fever and chills, and I literally…

Inspired by Little Blonde Book: Haute Holiday & Link Up On the Edge #176
It seems a little surreal that Christmas is just 5 days away. I am ready and I am not ready. In an effort to feel more in the holiday spirit, I have been trying to create festive outfits, but ones that would also work post-holiday season. Reds and greens and whites with splashes of plaids and animal prints have been the things drawing my attention recently. And you all know my fondness for colorful tights. Brightly colored legs are definitely putting me in the holiday mood! Like most fashion-conscious friends I know, I often go scouring Pinterest for inspiration every now and then. I was on a recent quest for…

Restyling My Wedding Dress for Thanksgiving Day
First, I want to wish all of my American readers a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving! We are hanging out at my sister’s house today in our most comfy clothes, stuffing our faces with all the delectable treats. Recently, I restyled my wedding dress for a photoshoot and seeing as it probably won’t fit me after all the holiday food consumption, now is great time to share it. My tenth wedding anniversary is quickly approaching…January 23 will mark a decade of wedded bliss with my favorite soldier. Being married to a man in the military means that we are both married to the military. Once again, my husband will be…

It’s Independence Day & Link Up On the Edge #152
Happy 4th of July from Asheville! I am sitting here in my hotel room this morning with not much planned for today. The traveling kind of wiped me out and then I stayed up way to late on my first night in Asheville. But I had the most wonderful time! As wonderful times often do, it caught up with me last night and I hit the bed early, slept 10 hours, reset myself, and now I am just doing some laundry and figured I would check in on the blogging world while I wait for the dryer to finish doing its thing. I also wanted to share this pretty Feeling…

The Perfect Accessory for the Antique Boat Museum and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #26
For Father’s Day this weekend, my husband and I decided a nice outdoor family activity would be a great way to celebrate. So we packed the kids into the car and headed out to Clayton, New York. Sunday was hot and humid and downright disgusting, so when I saw on my weather app that Clayton was going to be about 5 degrees cooler than Watertown, it was totally worth the 30 minute drive from our house. Plus I wanted to photograph my adorable new crocheted neckerchief made by a local crafter, Linda Gibbs Handmade. I picked up this cute little accessory on Wednesday when I ran into Linda at our…
