Inspired by I Do deClaire: Leggings Outfit & Link Up On the Edge #130
I wanted to share my inspired look yesterday on the blog, but life just seemed to get away from me. We are snowed in. Again. And while my intention was to take advantage of the unexpected free time at home and catch up on some writing, I decided instead to take a nap, drink some wine, and make homemade pirogies with my neighbor. As it turns out, that was much better for my soul than writing at that moment. A mere 24 hours later, I find myself snowed in. Again. As the second wave of blizzardy conditions is pummeling us into oblivion. Since I have nothing else to write about,…

I Think I Fell in Love: New Arrivals from Ruby Ribbon & Link Up On the Edge #103
I love clothes. And shoes. And jewelry. And handbags. And hats. And just about all things that are related to fashion and style. I have always been this way. I will always be this way. It is not something that I have ever considered changing…because I don’t want to. It brings me so much joy. Yes, there are so many more important things in life that also bring me joy…my kids, my family, my home, my friends, good books, great music, savory foods, coffee, waking up with the sunrise, my goals, my hopes, my dreams. But right smack in the middle of all that, fashion also brings me a lot…

Ruby Ribbon Lace Leggings
Do you remember a few weeks ago when I shared my Ruby Ribbon wish list? Well, I did order two of the camis, the Lace Full Support Cami in Deep Sea and the Sheer Full Support Cami in Black. They are such a great alternative to bras! Super comfortable, moisture wicking, and supportive! *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. With my purchase of the two camis, I was eligible to receive $30 off a pair of capri leggings and I chose the Lace Capri Leggings in Black. Let me first tell you that I don’t wear leggings very often at all, but…

Comfortable in My Own Skin and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #9
Do you ever just not feel comfortable with your own body? Nothing fits right? Nothing feels right? And you get stuck in a style rut of baggy ill-fitting clothing that will simply hide it all? This has happened to me…especially since having children and turning 40. My body is not what it was 20 years ago, 15 years ago, or even 10 years ago. Even in my mid-30’s when I had reached a weight and clothing size that was quite foreign to my former athletic self, I still was able to comfortably wear tight tops and even tuck them in. Then I had children, then I turned 40, then perimenopause…

LulaRoe Leggings and Link Up On the Edge #26
I completely missed last week’s Link Up On the Edge post. For that I apologize. I am slowly getting back on track and back into the swing of things. I have been busily photographing every single piece of merchandise available for sale in Shelbee’s Shoppe and will be reformatting my entire website next week to accommodate an online store. With the cold and snow upon us here in the North Country and my husband getting ready to leave for 2 months, I don’t plan on having very many vendor events or in-home parties again until Spring. So I need to get my online shop up and running! And on the…

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and All That Jazz
I have been absent from blogging the past two week due to illness, laziness, and holiday deployment depression. I always love the holidays and I still do, but there is a bitter sweetness this year. I want my kids to enjoy their Christmas and I absolutely love showering my loved ones with gifts, but I sort want it all to be over because that brings us a few weeks closer to J.’s return home from deployment. I hate that we are celebrating the major holidays without J. My kids are driving me crazy. I can’t wait for the Daddy to return home of relieve me of some of my parental…

My Other Plaid Poncho
* Note: I have been using the terms poncho and cape sort of interchangably. I understand they are different articles of clothing, but I am going to stick with my ignorant blurring of fashion lines for now…mostly for consistency in my posts. I published a post 2 weeks ago about My Plaid Poncho which showcased my red and gray poncho from Old Navy. And I thought I was satisfied with owning only one plaid poncho…until I saw this gray and rust one in Target. And it was included in a 25% off all women’s clothing sale, so of course, I could not resist. I was lazy and miserable today and…

Feminine Floral Leggings
This past weekend I had a shopping, movie, and lunch date planned with my great friend, E. It was windy and cool out and I wanted to be comfortable for sitting in a movie theater, stuffing my face with delicious food, and exercising (I mean shopping). I decided leggings were the best option, so I pulled out these super soft floral leggings that I got in the spring. (They are another pair of Lauren Conrad leggings that I have been raving about because the waistband stays in place with no hiking required throughout a long day of activity!) I think they transition well to the Fall and Winter because of…

Candy in my Scarf and Crazy Pants
Readers with children, have you ever heard things come out of your own mouth that you never imagined you would say? Things like, “Please stop licking the bottom of your shoe!” or “No, you may not play in the toilet.” If you have small children or did at one time, you are all too familiar with the very strange happenings that frequently occur! I recently experienced another one of these moments when I got dressed in my crazy pants and decided a heavy scarf was the only cold weather accessory I needed. I am an avid scarf collector and this giant blue knit scarf is one of my absolute favorites.…

Monochromatic Marsala and a “Stolen” Sweater
Maybe I’m strange, but most articles of clothing in my wardrobe have a story behind how I acquired them. I usually know where I purchased each item and how much I paid for them. And if I got the item for a “steal” (pun absolutely intended), you better believe that I’m going to tell you about it! I get very exited if I receive a compliment on a piece of clothing that I only paid a few dollars for. And I feel compelled to let the unsuspecting compliment-giver know exactly how much it cost! The story behind this monochromatic outfit is kind of funny. I was shopping with my friend…
