Making Transitions & Link Up On the Edge #110
Yesterday, I talked about transitions in the seasons, in our wardrobes, and in life in general. But I spoke rather generically on the topic. The idea of a discussion about transitions came to me because right now, I am going through a major transition. And I have to be honest, it is freaking exhausting. And energizing. All at the same time. Weird how life is filled with these strange exhilarating paradoxes, isn’t it? Now this transition may not seem like a big deal to some. And in the grand scheme of things, it really isn’t that big of a deal. But after 8 long years of being a stay-at-home mom,…

Inspired by Mom With Style: Giving Shape to a Shapeless Dress
I love when outfit inspiration hits me while browsing my favorite blogs over my morning coffee. Just last week, I found inspiration that I really needed from Mel of Mom with Style in her post, How to Become a Hat Person + WW Linkup. She showcased this gorgeous dark green maxi dress with a denim shirt and summer hat. While I do not have a maxi dress exactly like Mel’s, I have had this black and white leaf print long shift dress hanging in my closet unworn since last summer. I snagged it on clearance from Target at the end of the season last year for around $10. It was…

The Last Kimonos of Summer with Shoe Dazzle
Hello, Shoe Dazzle! Where have you been all my life? This site is a blessing and a curse. I am in shoe addict heaven trying to hold tight to my money which seems to have some sort of fantastic magnetic pull in the direction of this seemingly endless selection of adorable, affordable footwear. Yes. Yes. I understand that membership sites like this target weaknesses like mine. And in my case, they have targeted me quite successfully. Actually, I had no intention of joining at all. Except gladiator sandals. *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own based on my personal experience. If you follow me…

Styling a Kimono Into the Fall & Link Up On the Edge #59
Are any of you as obsessed with kimonos as I am? I seriously have a problem. At last count, there were 30 kimonos in various prints, solids, and lengths hanging in my closet. And I still cannot resist browsing through the kimonos any time I see them in a store. Oh, and when Charlotte Russe has a $15 kimono sale, forget it, I am in trouble! That’s where I scored this pretty floral one. For a mere $15. *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Fall is upon us and the temperatures are cooling quickly and drastically. Don’t misunderstand me, I am not complaining.…

In Search of the Extraordinary & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #34
This post is going to be more than just about spreading the kindness. I am hoping to spread awareness, share information, and possibly even gain some knowledge. First, I have to provide you with a little bit of background information. *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I turned 43 years old this year. My husband is 36 and my children are 6 and 4. The most important people in my life are much younger than me. My father died at the age of 54. My mother at the age of 57. That is 11 and 14 years older than I am right now.…

The Zyrtec Itchies & A Zaful Dress
I have a little story to share. And a cute little dress from Zaful. Hopefully, it is helpful to some. The story. Not the dress. Although I do hope you like the dress, too. It was gifted to me by Zaful to share with you all. *This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Back to my story. The information I am about to share would have been quite helpful to me had I known. But I found out the hard way. It seems that the popular over the counter allergy medication, Zyrtec, is quite physically addicting and you can experience some horrendous withdrawal symptoms when…

Transition and Edge of the Week Link Up #13
I have always considered myself a fairly adaptable person. I have moved a few times in my life and changed jobs abruptly and found myself in situations where most people would find the transition quite difficult. Yet, I usually adapted pretty quickly and got comfortable where I was at that point in time. However, a recent transition seems to be kind of rocking my world. And it is confusing me! My oldest child has started Kindergarten! And seriously, I am all out of sorts. Not really emotionally out of sorts. Just sort of all around out of sorts. Before school started, I was excited for the inevitable “more free time…

Boho Betty and On the Edge of the Week Link Up #8
If you read my last post, you will already know that I am super excited about my new venture as a Boho Betty brand rep! I received my first order of the the Foxglove Gold Studded Wrap Bracelet and the Wutu Faux Suede Wrap Bracelet (which unfortunately is no longer available). I am thrilled to say that these bracelets are even better than I expected! The vegan leather on these bracelets is so super soft against my skin creating a very comfortable fit. The Foxglove Wrap Bracelet has two snaps as closure for different sizes and the Wutu Wrap Bracelet has a magnetic closure making it so simple to put…

Gladiator Gladness
I bought these black gladiator sandals about 8 or 9 years ago from UrbanOG for less than $20. I thought they were awesomely cool and unique and you didn’t see anyone wearing gladiator sandals at that time. I loved these babies so much that I styled them with a white sundress and an armband of flowers when I renewed my vows with J in May of 2010 (our actual wedding ceremony was in January of 2008. I wore black combat boots that day!). These days, you can’t shop summer sandals in any shoe store or online store without being bombarded with about a thousand different options in gladiator sandals. I…
