Leopard, Stripes, and My Red Cape
If you have always wanted to mix patterns, but you are unsure of how to do it, remember this: One of the easiest combinations to pattern mix successfully is stripes and leopard. To make it even easier, pair a black and white striped top with a leopard print scarf. Throw in a splash of red and you look like you have known what you are doing all along. No one would ever guess you had doubts. For additional inspiration in pattern mixing combinations, check out here where I paired leopard with a splash of red, here where I combined a striped shirt with leopard shoes, and here where I wore…

One Furry Vest, Two Favorite Outfits
If you have been following my outfit of the day posts, you know I hate to pay full price for anything. But if I absolutely fall in love with something and it is still within my price point, I will consider a full price purchase. Denim, Denim, Plaid, and Cowgirl Boots
I just realized how much I am enjoying my denim jackets this season (I have three). I have been wearing them most days lately since the temperatures have been in the 50’s and denim is exactly the right amount of warmth for me. I layered a blue, black, and white flannel shirt over a black tank and…

Readers with children, have you ever heard things come out of your own mouth that you never imagined you would say? Things like, “Please stop licking the bottom of your shoe!” or “No, you may not play in the toilet.” If you have small children or did at one time, you are all too familiar with the very strange happenings that frequently occur! I recently experienced another one of these moments when I got dressed in my crazy pants and decided a heavy scarf was the only cold weather accessory I needed. I am an avid scarf collector and this giant blue knit scarf is one of my absolute favorites.…

One for the Playground and a Random Act of Kindness
Two weekends ago, my husband’s BFF, A., and I took his daughter and my boys to the park for a little autumn fun. There was the perfect amount of wind for kite-flying so we went to Carthage Park because they have a nice big open field up on a small hill. The kids were having a blast flying the kite until the kite got stuck in a tree. A very nice, albeit quite strange, older man (he was at the park with this 4 grandchildren), came to the rescue. He offered to climb the tree and retrieve the kite. I was shocked when he removed his shoes and climbed to…
