Inspired by Living Outside the Stacks: Style Icons & Link Up On the Edge #149
This is a kind of a double “inspired by” post…inspired by Daenel’s look that was inspired by Nicole Richie for last month’s Fab 40’s theme of Style Icons. My style icon for that post was Gwen Stefani as you may probably already be aware…since I ended up sharing two Gwen-inspired outfits. But when I saw Daenel’s super chic boho outfit, I knew immediately that I wanted to create something similar. If you don’t already know Daenel, let me introduce her. She is the creative and super stylish librarian behind the blog Living Outside the Stacks. In Daenel’s own words, she has “the research skills of a librarian, the preservation skills…

Introducing The Sunday Showcase…
Happy Sunday, dear readers! Today I am sharing something a little different with you and introducing a new monthly blogger link up that will go live the first Sunday of every month. This link party is hosted by three of my very good blogging friends, Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood, Chrissy of Granola and Grace, and Kellyann of This Blonde’s Shopping Bag. I was so honored when they reached out to me to be the very first co-host for this new link up. *This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. This new link up is being introduced at the perfect time as I…

Mini Dress or Dress for Mini People?
If you remember a few weeks back, I posted a Weekend Wish List of items from Just Fashion Now with a $150 Giveaway hosted by the company itself. In the midst of moving, I never even got around to checking who the winners were! The winners have been announced on the Just Fashion Now Blog in case you were wondering! As a thank you from Just Fashion Now for spreading the word about their giveaway, I was allowed to choose an item for myself. I picked this Keyhole Long Sleeve Boho Floral Printed Boho Mini Dress. Here’s the catch on this one…they called this a mini dress! In general, mini dresses…

The Power of No (and a Little Bit of Boho)
I spent the first 30 to 35 years of my life being a “yes” girl. Craving to be popular, to be liked, to being the friend my friends could always rely on. Always. To the point that I exhausted myself. Overwhelmed myself. Literally made myself crazy. I had only myself to blame. You can’t really blame others for taking advantage of the “yes” girl. Probably they didn’t even realize that I was saying “yes” to everyone who asked me for something. And I believe it is just human nature to keep asking the person who always says “yes.” It is like a safety zone from rejection. For the sake of…

Kimono Love
I bought this kimono last year on clearance for about $6 and only wore it once. It didn’t fit quite right in the shoulders but I have since lost a few pounds and now it feels more comfortable. I’m kind of having a love affair with it now…expect to see it more on my Instagram page! I love how it disguises the parts I don’t want bulging out and around. I love how the long length makes me look leaner and taller. I love the versatility of the colors and style. I love how the fringe makes me feel a little boho. I love that it is super lightweight so…

Socks, Sandals, and Boho Stripes
I have been wanting to try the socks and sandals trend, but I was a bit nervous about whether I could pull it off. So I kept it simple for a cool Fall day with dark earthy tones. I actually planned this outfit from the feet up! I started with my super long, thick, warm, and cozy burgundy socks paired with my very comfortable footbed sandals in deep brown. Keeping with the autumnal hues, I went with darker wash jeans. I have seen this trend of socks and footbed sandals with skinny jeans, but I just wasn’t feeling skinny jeans this day. I tried it with boyfriend jeans, but it…
