We are nearing the end of The Holiday Series, which is a collaboration among fabulous bloggers featuring different outfits for various events throughout the holiday season. This series was created by the very lovely and inspirational Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood. I joined Ada last year for this series as well and it really is one of my favorite collaborations. Today there are 11 of us sharing some wonderful outfit ideas for Christmas Day. In case you missed the other posts in this series, we have already shared outfit ideas for Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday shopping, and a Holiday wedding. Next week, we will be sharing New Year’s Eve outfit…

The Fab 40’s are Western-Inspired: The Cowgirl in Me
The Fab 40’s are at it again, pushing each other way outside of our comfort zones and making sartorial magic happen along the way. The Fab 40’s is a group of six fashion bloggers from around the globe. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger who is also in their 40’s to join us. This group’s goal is to take on style trends and show how we each interpret and incorporate them into our own lives. With six widely varied views, you are certain to find something that speaks to you each month and encourages you to continue to have fun with fashion after the…

Styling Tall Boots for Fall & Your Own Twist Link Up #2
Remember my post, Running on Empty? I told you all I had about a million collaborations coming up…and here is my third one this week. This one was Monica’s brainchild and it’s a fun one! We have Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood joining us co-host this month. Last month, we brought to you Fashion Icon Halloween Costumes and this month we are sharing our fall outfits featuring tall boots. As I stated in yesterday’s edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you know I love my combat boots. And this over the knee version that I got from ShoeDazzle last year are some of my absolute favorites. They are perfect over…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-November 2018-Boots
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! Welcome! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. Over a year ago, Nancy and I started The Bad Buy Book, a monthly series about our worst purchases. It was a lot of fun to do and we both learned something from it, too! Nancy learned that off-white against her face is not the most flattering color. And I learned that I have a serious problem resisting a good thrift shop find when it comes to pieces that fit “good enough” but “not quite right.” However, after running that series for a year, we decided to change it a bit. For this series, you can choose…

The Holiday Series 2018-Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #97
Ada is at it again with a huge blogger collaboration series this year! Of course, I am always ready to join her and this fabulous line up of amazing blogger friends. Today, there are 13 of us bringing you lots of outfit inspiration just in time for Thanksgiving Day. Get cozy, get comfortable, get warm, and eat all the yummy food! For my outfit, I chose my super comfortable, extra stretchy skinny boyfriend jeans from Torrid layered up with a plain gray long sleeve tee shirt and a very old, but very cozy purple poncho sweater. And to keep some edge with my casual style, I added these fun gray…

The Fab 40’s Went Goth
For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to different fashion trends, never fitting into one clean little box of style. Throughout the seasons of my life as I have experimented with my own personal style, I have noticed that I favor certain styles more than others. But one genre of fashion that always makes me feel most comfortably like myself is Goth. Not the over the top, spikes and leather and morbid Goth, but a more subtle and tame version of Goth style. When Suzy of Pixie Chick in Portugal chose this month’s theme for The Fab 40’s, my angsty heart from my teenage years…

Fashion Icon Halloween Costumes & Your Own Twist Link Up
Hey Jersey Girl, Texan Heart and Shelbee on the Edge readers! Monica and I decided to do a fun link up once a month (since we are both super crazy busy so why not add more projects to our calendars)! Every month we will host the Your Own Twist Link Up with the goal of inspiring some of our fashionista friends out there. The idea behind this collaboration is to take one common piece or theme and style it our own way…Monica and I have both taken a lot of fashion inspiration from one another over the past few years even though we have totally different styles. It is always…

Words of Advice to My Younger Self & A Special Link Up
Y’all I know I love a good celebration! And today I am joining some amazing blogger friends to celebrate Monica’s 31st birthday in true blogger style! Be sure to hop over to Jersey Girl, Texan Heart and see who else has joined this special birthday collaboration. In honor of her birthday, Monica has asked us all to share some words of wisdom with our younger selves. Reflecting back on this post from a few weeks ago, I realized that we all struggle with self-confidence from the moment that we become self-aware and start comparing ourselves to everyone else around us. This is the commencement of a lifelong fight toward self-love.…

The Fab 40’s are Clad in Plaid
I think the world may just have gone crazy. I think we have all lost our minds. And I truly believe that we have passed it straight on down to our youth. Crazy as the mad hatter, I say. Insaner than a mixed up outfit combining plaid, camo, flowers, and a graphic tee. But it is a Wonder Woman graphic tee, damn it. Because it needs to be in this place that has morphed into a deranged lunacy of self-loathing. Okay. Okay. You are probably wondering what on earth I am talking about. And you are possibly quite curious what any of it has to do with The Fab 40’s…
