Sometimes It’s All About the Shoes…

But not this time. This time it’s about the shoes and the dress and just feeling fabulous. But first, I am going to talk about the shoes. These Leopard Printed Suede Stiletto Heel Pumps arrived a few weeks ago courtesy of FSJ Shoes and I was super excited to style them, but also a little scared! I haven’t worn a heel this high in years and I wasn’t even sure that I could walk in these babies. But let me tell you, once I put this outfit all together and slipped on these sleek and sexy shoes, I felt my level of sass elevate tenfold. It was pretty amazing. At first, I was a little bit wobbly like a newborn fawn, but once I got my strut going, I was all super model-esque. And who doesn’t want to feel that way?

*This is a sponsored post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.

Now let me talk about the dress for a minute. I recently shared this dress in my Weekend Wish List: Torrid in both red and black. I recently bought it in black at Torrid Salmon Run Mall and quickly realized that it would be the perfect piece to showcase my new leopard print heels.

It was still on the cooler side of things when I styled this outfit and I needed a jacket. So I grabbed for my old reliable denim jacket that I bought years and years ago from Lane Bryant. I haven’t been able to find a denim jacket anything like this one in recent years, but Lane Bryant does currently offer some amazing cropped denim jackets.

Now I want to talk briefly about getting dressed for the sole purpose of feeling fabulous. This is an outfit that I would wear on a date night with the husband. In fact, I did wear the dress this weekend for date night but I styled it a little differently. If you follow me on Instagram then you may have already caught a glimpse of this dress on me with a different pair of amazing shoes! If you haven’t seen it, check it out here.  I’m going to share a quick story with you all. I have gone out to a few bars in the past week and I was disappointed to see that people do not get dressed up to go out anymore. Way back when I was single and frequenting the bar scene, we got dressed. Like really dressed. And as a woman who feels fabulous when I am wearing fabulous clothes, I really enjoyed seeing what other women were wearing. I still do appreciate and admire other women’s outfits and I am quick to offer compliments to strangers. But seriously, in three visits to three different bars this week (that sounds like I have a drinking problem, doesn’t it?), I saw four women who were dressed to impress. FOUR women in three bars. That is all. So without bashing on all the others (because that is not my style), all I want to say is this…come on, ladies, step up your style game! I promise it will make you feel even more fabulous than you already are! And if you are lost or confused about how to do it, let me know. I will help you out! Or if you just need some style ideas, you can check out all of my favorite bloggers. They will surely inspire you.

But let’s get back to the shoes. These shoes are nothing short of the sexiest pair of shoes I own. If you are looking for a pair of killer statement shoes, look no further than FSJ Shoes. They have an amazing selection of leopard print heels, 4 inch heels in all styles, shapes, colors, and prints, and other stiletto heels. FSJ Shoes is based in China and I find that their footwear runs a little on the narrow side. I am usually a U.S. size 10 and sometimes a size 11. I ordered an 11 in these to be safe and they fit perfectly except for being a tad bit narrow in the toe. But the next size up would have been too big. They offer shoes sizes up to a U.S. size 15 for women.

Lol! You go girl! I love that dress, heels and jacket together. When I drop more weight I want to get back in some sexy heels. Thanks for sharing and being real girl!

Ha, Jodie! I know it’s all about the shoes! But I am so loving this dress, too, that I couldn’t leave it out of the equation. I still haven’t worn these shoes out anywhere, but I will one of these days! I just hope I don’t break an ankle in the process…because that would NOT be hot!

OOOOOH! THAT’S a new way to mic drop! Hahahaha.
I saw those shoes on IG, and thought, that Shelbee, raising the sass bar again!

I’ve worn my share of F*#k-me pumps, in the OLDEN DAYS. Fauxkenstocks and clogs are the furthest thing from sexy, I know. And I just snagged some new-to-me Fluevogs on Poshmark (Fluevog obsession, slightly stilled) which are also NOT sexy. I guess it’s not a concern. We’ll see how I do making some high heeled court shoes in the week-long shoe making workshop starting in one week!!!!!! 😉

OMG, Anne! You crack me up! When I had my kids, I got rid of all my sass, “bedroom” shoes and then about a year ago, I wanted to start to wearing fancy high heeled shoes again. Because I can! Although, I wouldn’t mind adding a pair of NOT-sexy Fluevogs to my shoe collection. Perhaps one day. And you are making shoes?! That makes me super jealous. I want to make a pair of shoes! I can’t see how yours turn out. I’m sure they will be fabulous.

Shelbee, you look fabulous! I don’t know if I could walk in those heels, but dang girl, you are rockin’ it! That dress is really cute too. I like the caged look of the top over the shoulders. People just don’t seem to dress up as much for any occasions. It’s like they no longer care about the way they look, and unfortunately it shows. Thanks for sharing. – Amy

Amy, thank you so much for the lovely compliment! And also, thanks for getting my point about dressing up! I love getting dressed up because it makes me feel great so I don’t always understand why people wouldn’t want to do it.

Wow! I’ll bet the shoes went of too!( or everything but the shoes!)Lol. What a fabulous shoes, I love them and your dress too. I always like a high low hem line. And I totally agree on dressing up. When we go out for diner, wich is what we often do, then it Always surprises me that so little women make an effort. Such a shame! Glad that you do too!

  • Judy

Ooooh I do lov a sexy pair of heels, and will occasionally atttempt to wear them! I agree with you about women making an effort wheen they go out. I know I love to get dressed up, especially as I don’t go out that much! 🙂

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Judy, thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! I definitely need to ad more sexy heels to my closet as I only have a few! But I am starting to wear heels more frequently now that my children are getting older. I love getting dressed up just to leave my house! So when it’s actually a night out, I go all out!

Mama Mia! Those pumps are scorching hot. I’m drooling, but I don’t think I could walk in them. Boohoo!!! And that cagey dress is so nice and floaty when you walk. Love this whole look. And, don’t get me started on how little effort people put into their appearance nowadays. It’s downright depressing. I don’t know if it’s lack of imagination, laziness, or something else. Whatever it is, I just wish it would stop.

Theresa, thank you so much! I didn’t think I could walk in them either, but I surprisingly did okay! And I totally agree that it is so depressing that so many people put such little effort into their appearances. Maybe it is because they are depressed! But that’s where fashion can act as therapy as it has for me in the past. If you look good, it will contribute very much to your feeling good, and it will create a pattern of good all around you. But you already know that because you look fabulous!

I think the shoes make or break a look. These pumps are perfect with the dress and jacket. You look awesome. Thanks for joining the Top of the World Style linkup party.

A pair of leopard print shoes instantly ups the sass factor! I love the black dress too, you look stunnng Shelbee! I like to make the effort when I go out (which isn’t very often). My husband usually says it makes him feel scruffy! I dress for me though so I wear what I want 😉

Thanks so much, Emma! I agree completely with all of this! Leopard shoes definitely elevate any outfit and I totally dress for me but my husband does love it! He also looks scruffy in comparison! But he loves that, too.
