Happy December and Happy Wednesday! The Christmas season is really, really upon us now! And fashionable comfort is key for me for long shopping days and other kid-friendly holiday activities. And fur (well, faux fur, of course). Fur keeps me in the holiday spirit!
I previously styled my Cato Fashions Cable Knit Fur Vest with skirt outfits here and had a few readers request a more casual look with jeans and the furry vest. So here it is! I actually have seen a bunch of similar outfits like this one on Pinterest with a plaid shirt, jeans, and a furry vest.
I wanted to keep a monochromatic color scheme for the base of my outfit so that the vest would pop against the background. So, I paired a red and navy plaid button down shirt with dark wash skinny jeans and navy blue over the knee boots. Because the vest is such a statement piece, the only other accessories I wore were three layered silver necklaces to keep it simple but interesting. The layered necklaces were even more interesting by the end of the day as they became a tangled mess around my neck! I may not try that again.
Shirt: St. John’s Bay Long-Sleeve Brushed Twill Shirt in American Navy Plaid from JCPenney. No longer available. Apparently, blue and red plaid is very popular because all similar plaids are sold out. But these different plaids are cute, too, here, here, and here.
Necklaces: Kiln Fired Sterling Silver Tree of Life Necklace by Denise Smith. Sterling Rune Wisdom Necklace (I bought mine in a gift shop in Iceland, but they are available online.) I also purchased the Viking Ship necklace from a gift shop in Iceland. Similar Viking inspired neckalces are available here, here, and here.
So how do you wear your furry vest, dressed up or down?
Keeping it on the edge,
