Plaid Squared with DressLily & Link Up On the Edge #71

What is better than plaid for a festive holiday vibe in your outfit? Plaid squared, of course. I have been telling you all that I am currently obsessed with plaid. And hats. So here is yet another plaid outfit with a hat! But this time, I doubled my plaid!

*This is a sponsored post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

*Buffalo Plaid Coat: Old Navy from last year.

You can see my red and black Buffalo plaid coat in this post from last week. And if you missed my plaid tunic and cloche hat outfit from Thanksgiving, you can check that out in this post. And just the other day, I styled a purple plaid swing dress with my pink velvet booties. And there is still more plaid to come.

*Plaid Vest: Plus Size Open Front High Low Plaid Waistcoat c/o DressLily.

The trick to doubling your plaids is to make sure you stick with coordinating or matching colors. My Buffalo plaid is red and black. The plaid vest is red, black, and tan. You also want the contrasting plaids to be different sizes to avoid looking like a hot mess.

I felt like black boots were too predictable, so I opted for brown. And yes, you can pair brown and black together, especially when the plaid incorporates both of those colors. This vest came with a skinny black belt. But I didn’t like the belted silhouette on my frame. Also, I ordered the vest in a 5XL and the belt was no bigger than a size Small. I actually wore the belt as a choker in this post.

I have another outfit coming soon featuring three plaid patterns.  Yep, I combined three plaids on one outfit! So stay tuned for that! Are you as obsessed with plaid as I am? Would you double your plaids? I would love to hear your take on this print.
