My Plaid Poncho

The September issue (which came out in August) of Redbook Magazine featured this red plaid poncho in their piece “Fab Fall Style Under $100.” It is from Old Navy, one of my favorite places to shop. And for only $39.94 for wool-blend outerwear, I thought this was a great deal! But I couldn’t find it in Old Navy for a really long time. I would check the store, then the website. Nothing. Finally sometime in October, there was the poncho available online. But I really wanted to check out the quality in person before making my purchase. I kept checking in the store and it was not there and the employees had no idea if they would be getting it. Then, finally, I went into my local Old Navy…and there it was…the red plaid poncho I had ben lusting after! And I loved the quality. It is very heavy and very soft. And it has arm holes so it doesn’t keep falling off. On that day, it became mine! Then Old Navy featured it as a Katie Holmes favorite pick.

I layered my poncho over a charcoal gray cowl-neck knit top and paired it with black skinny jeans, tall black boots, and my new favorite fox necklace. Because the poncho is such a statement piece, I kept the rest of my outfit simple.

I previously paired my poncho with a lightweight black sweater-knit top, boyfriend jeans, taupe Chelsea boots, and a red and silver chunky necklace.

I am so in love with my poncho and will be wearing it a ton this season, I’m sure! Have you joined on the poncho trend yet? How do you style your poncho? I would love to hear from you!
