Mixing Up Patterns with Zaful & Link Up On the Edge #29

Lately, I have really been on a pattern mixing kick and I have been trying to add some brighter colors to my outfits, too. So when I saw this Paisley Printed Fleece Coat from Zaful, I knew it needed to be mine!

*Coat and necklace were gifted to me from Zaful in exchange for a review. All opinions stated in this post are my own and are in no way influenced by the company.

When it arrived, I was even more pleased with the coat then I was from the pictures. The colors are super vibrant and the print is so adorable and fun. The fabric is a light twill with a very heavy fleece lining, which is perfect for the North Country winters. I went with the size 4XL so I would have lots of room to layer underneath it.

The coat also features really big patch pockets on both sides which hold everything I need when running from the car to the school to drop off and pick up children. I hate to carry a purse from the car, but I need to have my keys, my phone, my gloves, the kids’ mittens (which they always refuse to put on but then want 10 seconds later), and a stack of business cards! Plus who doesn’t love pockets?!

I also wanted to show off this new dark chambray shirt dress that has just been added to Shelbee’s Shoppe. It is perfect for layering over another dress as a jacket or worn buttoned and belted as a dress by itself. And even better, it is available in sizes Small through 3XL.

To challenge myself with some fun print mixing, I wore this green and navy striped skater dress over navy textured tights. The colors paired perfectly with the accents in the paisley print on the coat. The background color of the coat is actually black, but the fleece lining is navy which works for me because then I can wear either a black or navy based outfit with it. I added a brown belt at the waist to create some definition as I literally am shaped like a rectangle! I also liked how the brown pulled in the yellows from the paisley print. So I added brown booties and a brown faux suede choker. I have been wanting a wrap choker like this for quite some time, so when I saw that Zaful one, I added it to my order.

I am pretty sure I have lots of things in my closet to pair with this super fun coat! And it is so comfortable and warm which is going to make this my favorite casual go-to coat this winter, for sure! Unfortunately, the black is sold out but it is still available in red. I may need to order the red, too! I really do love it that much!

Plus paisley is my favorite pattern ever! So the more paisley in my wardrobe, the happier I am. Speaking of favorite patterns, I have been wondering lately if there has been a personality study ever based on what patterns appeal to a person aesthetically. I am just very curious about that…because there are certain patterns and prints that I absolutely love and there are others that just really do not strike my fancy in any way. And even some that offend my eyes to a certain extent! If anyone knows of such a study, I would love for you let me know! What’s your favorite pattern or print?
