Little Red Dress & Your Own Twist Link Up #3

This is not a sponsored post.

Today we have another guest blogger! Ewa from 60 Plus Experience is joining us with the red dress theme, with a little bit of a twist. Why not wear a long red vest instead of a red dress if you don’t have a red dress?

When Monica presented red dresses as the theme for this month’s Your Own Twist Link Up, my brain immediately went to holiday inspired fancy red dresses like this lacy number I wore last year for New Year’s Eve or something sexy and sassy like this little red dress I wore for my professional photo shoot two summers back.

Dress: Charlotte Russe Striped Sweatshirt Dress

I didn’t really want to repeat one of these dresses and I certainly had no reason to go purchase a new little red dress specifically for one blog post. But the shopping goddesses were on my side when I saw this cute red sweatshirt dress on clearance at Charlotte Russe. Not even thinking about this red dress theme, I loved this comfortable dress with the contrasting pink and white racer stripes down the sleeves and snatched it up with the sole of intention of lounging around the house in it.

Enter these sassy mid calf white booties, also from Charlotte Russe, and this fun black and white snowflake scarf found on clearance last year at Old Navy. It was one of those purchases that was added to my online shopping cart for a few dollars in order to reach the free shipping amount. I’m not the only person who does that, am I? I topped the whole thing off with my Old Navy black moto jacket and headed to the park for some photos back in November before the snow buried us here in the North Country.

Scarf: Old Navy (last year). Similar here.

Still completely off my radar for the red dress theme, I contemplated different post topics where I could use these photos. Then like a lightbulb, it finally dawned on me that I needed a red dress and now I had a red dress…albeit it’s a super casual red dress. But that’s what this collaboration is all about anyway…putting your own twist on the stated theme. So with all that mumbly jumbly stuff being said, I give you my take on the little red dress. Casual. Comfortable. Sassy. Perfect for the holidays or for any other time really.

Jacket: Old Navy (last year). Similar here.

Looking for more style inspiration? Be sure to check out Monica’s little red dress (also paired with a black moto jacket but much fancier than my dress) as well her mama Ewa’s long red vest…her own twist on the theme…brilliant, classy, and super stylish!  How do you wear your little red dress?

Our Featured Bloggers from last month’s linkup are Chez Rama and Living on Cloud Nine. We loved their outfits!

If you would like to show us your own twist on our themes, just share a post using the theme as inspiration and link it below! But remember, you can link any type of post that you’d like as well! It doesn’t have to be a little red dress. Also, please join us in January with your favorite Body Positive inspired piece styled to make you feel fabulous!

Keeping it on the edge,
