Little Bits of Inspiration #9

I am just going to dive right in with 5 posts that have completely inspired me, moved me, even brought me to tears in recent months…I hope you all feel just as inspired and moved as I did!

1. Jen of Real Life On Purpose published a very powerful and important message back in June, Inspired to: Speak Up For What Is Right.

This is a valuable reminder for us all: “When truth is being manipulated or distorted or ignored entirely, I hope I will speak up for what is right.”

2. Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust is featured rather frequently in My Little Bits of Inspiration series. Well, because she is always inspiring me. In her post Pride Tank Top & Cropped Joggers: Love is a Verb, she literally moved me to tears.

I will give you this much…” If each and every one of us steps up and speaks up when we witness bigotry, racism, homophobia, bullying…then our one voice becomes an entire chorus of voices; an entire chorus of voices that demands to be heard. And that is how we, as individuals, can use love as a verb.” Basically, you just need to read the post. If you have already read it, then please read it again. It is important.

3. A blogger after my own heart, Jane of Unextraordinarily Jane gave us a little glimpse into the beautiful woman behind the alias in her post Random Thursday: Becoming Jane, Embracing Me.

For anyone who has struggled with social anxiety or any other type of social insecurities, Jane can offer wonderful insight to how she is overcoming her own struggles through blogging. “Before long little pieces of Jane started to trickle into my life outside of the internet. I spoke up where I would normally remain quiet. The fear of being seen and heard lessened. I smiled and laughed. I felt something loosen within me…finally I could shine and be the person I was always meant to be.”

*Jane is currently on a blogging break, but there is lots of fabulous stuff in her older posts. I hope she returns to blogging again soon because I miss seeing her lovely smile in my weekly link up!

4. Another fabulous blogger who makes frequent appearances in my Little Bits of Inspiration series is Sheela of Sheela Writes. In her post Show Some Skin, Sheela brilliantly and articulately attacks the conventional and arbitrary standards of what makes a woman sexy.

Huge applause for Sheela on this one. “From where I’m standing, being sexy has nothing to do with the size of your breasts or the gap between your thighs (or lack thereof) nor the pout of your lips.” Well done, my friend, well done.

5. Jordyn of The Fairy Princess Diaries very bravely takes on a difficult and sensitive subject for herself in The Taboo of Loneliness.

I am so impressed with Jordyn’s ability to wear her heart on her sleeve and expose her deepest emotions to us all. “Loneliness is especially difficult to discuss. I’ve rid myself of any shame when it comes to discussing social anxiety, depression, anger or grief, even jealousy feels worth talking about if only to rid myself of it. Talking about loneliness feels especially pathetic. While we can sympathize for a sad person, an anxious person, or a depressed person, a lonely person appears especially broken.” I definitely felt a camaraderie with her and hopefully you will, too.

This concludes September’s installment of my Little Bits of Inspiration. I hope you have found something wonderful here as well! What has you inspired lately?

Inspired on the edge,
