Want to know who has inspired me this past month? Read on…

1. Kate Hudson on Parenting…read her essay Sometimes I Feel Like a Bad Mom in the May Issue of InStyle Magazine. There is a link for the digital version of the full essay at the bottom of the article.

Seriously, all moms should read this. It will make you feel normal. It will make you feel sane. It will make you feel adequate. Despite its title, it will make you feel very much NOT like a bad mom! This really struck me and made me laugh and made me feel like I am not failing at this mom gig, like I am surviving the best I can just like everyone else…

“some days I find myself doing strange things that don’t have any real purpose, in faraway corners in my house, and I realize I am literally and deliberately hiding from children.”

I can’t even tell you how many times I have literally and deliberately hidden from my children! Can I get an Amen here?!

2. Carly of Lipgloss and Crayons.

Her post back in May Positive Body Image: 10 Things I Did to Stop Hating My Body struck a major cord with me. Like most women, Carly is gorgeous inside and out but still struggles with her own body image. Here she lists 10 steps she took to proactively stop bashing her own body. We are our own worst critics, but it’s time to put a stop to it and start loving ourselves the way we love others! Here’s one of Carly’s suggestions…

“Complimenting Other Women: Positivity breeds positivity. I found that the more I complimented other women in my life, the more complimentary I was to myself.”

For more ideas, read her full post here.

3. Celia of Resilientista is a self-care expert with so many great ideas for living a full life of self love.

After fully recovering from a brain injury in 2006, Celia makes an effort to share what she has learned during this major life transition. She is so empowering and exudes positivity in all things she does. She also has self-help guides and a daily lifestyle planner to help motivate and empower you to reach your life goals. She is also the author of the fashion and lifestyle blog High Heeled Life. For inspiration on style or methods of relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest, you definitely need to check out Celia’s blog.

Side note: I had planned on featuring Celia in this post for the past month, but very recently she hosted a giveaway which I was so very fortunate to win. I just received my box of goodies yesterday which included The Resilientista Planner, A High Heeled Life Journal, a set of A High Heeled Life note cards, a copy of Adventures in Manifesting Soulful Relationships (featuring Celia M.), an adorable High Heeled Life coffee mug, and 3 boxes of gorgeously packaged tea! Stay tuned for a detailed post from me about this wonderful gift!

4. Sheela of Sheela Writes.

Sheela always, without fail, writes posts that are so thought-provoking and inspiring and sometimes even unsettling, but in a way that keeps you on your toes and makes you think. She also has fabulous style! One of my favorite posts Rise Unafraid pushes readers to figure out what motivates them, what gets them going in the morning. Sheela is brutally and beautifully honest and this post may move you to tears. (This may or may not be one of my favorite Sheela posts because she mentions little ole me, but I can’t even express the gratitude and honor I felt after reading this post.)

In this post, Sheela tells us…

“That’s what puts the lilt in my step. Pushes me to rise up every single day, like the sun. Like waves crashing to the shore.”

To find what that is, go here. If you want honesty and beauty and edginess and real life, you absolutely need to read what Sheela writes!

5. Saumya of Myriad Musings.
