Keeping It Golden & Link Up On The Edge #75

Welcome to the final Link Up On the Edge of 2017! A few days ago, I wrote a post discussing the torment of menopause. If you missed that post, you can read it here. Just like most uncomfortable things in life, I like to inject a bit of humor in such topics. And just like most struggles in life, I try to take it all in stride, make the best of the situation, and smile and laugh my way through it. But knowing that on the other side of menopause lies our golden years gives a glimmer of hope that makes it a little easier to keep perspective and stay positive. Because, let’s face it, what woman doesn’t strive to be just like Betty White?

I mean, she is totally fabulous, isn’t she?

So when I saw this Golden Girls tee at Torrid Salmon Run Mall, I knew it had to be mine.

And then I just received this pink cloche hat from Zaful and it was like a sartorial match made in St. Olaf!

Handmade Round Fuzzy Ball Cloche Hat

Random Fact: While St. Olaf, Minnesota, sees approximately twice as much snowfall as the average U.S. city, the climate is similar to where I live in Watertown, New York, except we receive approximately four times the amount of snow as the average city in the United States. But what better way to shine golden against a bright white snow-covered background than in a pink cloche hat!

*This is a sponsored post.  This hat was provided to me.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If I am going to wear a pink hat, you bet your golden butt that I am going to showcase some fabulous magenta booties, too. Another acquisition from my recent Shoe Dazzle haul. Because once you reach those golden years, there is no excuse to not wear cute shoes!

*Boots: Isabela Booties in Magenta from Shoe Dazzle. Available in 3 colors.

*Tee: Golden Girls V-Neck Tee from Torrid Salmon Run Mall.
*Jeans: Torrid Boyfriend Jeans – Light Wash with Lace Inset Destruction from Torrid Salmon Run Mall.

Now I leave with you some fun quotes from those fabulous ladies of The Golden Girls.  Remember to link up when you get to the end of the post!

“It’s like we say in St. Olaf. Christmas without fruitcake is like St. Sigmund’s Day without the headless boy.” -Rose

“Isn’t it amazing how I can feel so bad and look so good?” -Blanche

“People waste their time pondering whether a glass is half empty or half full. Me, I just drink whatever’s in the glass.” -Sophia

“The older you get, the better you get. Unless you’re a banana.” -Rose

“Crying is for plain women. Pretty women go shopping.” -Blanche

“Have I have given you any indication at all that I care?” -Sophia

“Forgive me, Rose, but I haven’t had sex in 15 years and it’s starting to get on my nerves.” – Sophia

I’m as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo.” -Blanche

“Dorothy, was Sophia naked just now or does her dress really need ironing?” -Rose

“Well, nobody ever believes me when I’m telling the truth. I guess it’s the curse of every devastatingly beautiful woman.” -Blanche

“Blanche, I could get herpes listening to this story.” -Dorothy

That’s all I have for today. I hope I made you smile and maybe even laugh!

By the way, I think I might need this tee shirt, too!
