Inspired by Hypnoz Glam: Reflections on Comfortability with Rosegal

“We are created in the image of greatness; and it is in our right to want to be great. There’s nothing wrong with that.”  -Edwige of Hypnoz Glam

When I read Edwige’s post, Reflections on being too comfortable, back in August, I knew immediately I was going to have to share it on my blog at some point. And with the upcoming Forever Fierce Meet Up at Chico’s in New York City and me having to face some serious fears, now seemed like the best time to reflect on Edwige’s post.

Edwige began her post with this quote by Susan Fales-Hill:

“If you’re too comfortable, it’s time to move on. Terrified of what’s next? You’re on the right track.” -Susan Fales-Hill

To be honest, I had no idea who Susan Fales-Hill was…so I had to do a quick search. And now I totally get why Edwige was so inspired by Susan. These are two amazingly insightful women who both have a way with words and a talent for empowering and inspiring women to be the best versions of themselves.

I have been saying for years now that great things happen once you get outside your comfort zone. And now I know that I am not alone in this sentiment. Great discomfort has this strange ability to bring you face to face with some of the most fabulous things. Pushing yourself outside comfortability, through pain and turmoil, through the unpleasant and the fear, often will take you right to the doorstep of opportunities that you may have never even dreamt of. On the other side of your comfort is where the greatness lies. You just need to take the steps to get there.

“While the uncertainty may seem frightening, you will never know what’s on the other side of the door, unless you muster up the courage to open it.” -Edwige of Hypnoz Glam

I don’t want to quote anymore from Edwige’s post because I really want you to read it for yourself. She has her own way with words that I cannot properly convey. So I am going to share instead some of Susan’s Favorite Quotes.

“Mistakes are the price of an interesting life.” – Sophia Loren

“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I will tell you. I came to live out loud.” – Emile Zola

“Make your own trail.” – Katharine Hepburn

I am all about making my own trail. Walking my own path. Doing my own thing. No matter how uncomfortable it may be. And with empowering and supportive women on my side, the fear begins to subside just enough for me to dive head first right outside of my own comfort zone. Who is with me?

I have to share these two outtake photos that my friend Kari sent to me. I love how she captured Amy and me in action during this photo shoot! And I love how my friends are so supportive of me. I would not be where I am without them! They are the epitome of women who empower other women! I love you, girls.

Keeping it on the edge,
