Inspired By Fashion Should Be Fun: Girl Power & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #51

If you are a fashion blogger or even the tiniest bit obsessed with fashion, I am sure you know Dawn Lucy of Fashion Should Be Fun. I have been following Dawn Lucy for a few years and I have to say that she has not shared an outfit yet that hasn’t sent me into a complete swoon of adoration. Last month when she shared her post Lily Silk – High Quality Silk, Black Friday Deals, it was her studded booties that made me gasp with delight and sigh, “Oh, I need a pair of studded booties.”

Dawn Lucy of Fashion Should Be Fun

Seriously, how fabulous are her booties? The studs just scream girl power. Since I have been feeling very empowered of late by my fierce female friends, I needed a little bit of rock star power that some fabulous studded booties would surely provide! So I headed off to my favorite place for boots, Shoe Dazzle, and I found these amazing Scheana Booties.

In the interest of channeling my girl power, what better pairing with studded booties than a Wonder Woman inspired faux leather jacket. When I spotted this jacket at DressLily, I knew immediately that I had to wear it with these booties. Fortunately, they both arrived in the mail only days apart so I was able to put it all together and share with you before the holidays! Because who doesn’t need to tap into their inner Wonder Woman during this crazy time of year?

*This jacket was provided to me for purposes of this blog post. Β As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Because my favorite Torrid jeggings always make me feel fabulous, they were the obvious choice for this outfit. A simple black vee neck sweater and some gold jewelry completed my look.

Do you ever feel like your clothes can give you super hero powers? My outfits certainly can effect my mood and my self-confidence, oftentimes making me feel as if I can take on the world. So when I am feeling like I need some extra strength to get through a rough day, some super powers for example, you can bet I will be reaching for my studded booties and Wonder Woman jacket!

Thank you, Dawn Lucy, for inspiring me to seek out these amazing booties! I never would have looked twice if you hadn’t styled them so perfectly!

And now your favorite posts from last week. I am featuring 4 this week!

But then I saw the exact same jacket on the Torrid website and they were calling the Wonder Woman jacket…so I went with that because of all the girl power. I do have certain outfits that I feel so good in that I feel more confident and able to do anything! And they don’t have to be all Super Woman Bad Ass, they can be simple and chic and still make you feel invincible!

    • Bettye, thank you so much! I agree with you completely, sometimes an understated amazing outfit can have the same effect on confidence. I am a true believer that if you feel good, you will look good and if you look good, you will feel good. It all sort of feeds off each other…but either way the end result is beautiful, amazing self-confidence! And yes, red studded booties are totally on my wish list now…thanks to Jodie! 20. The booties! the jacket!! LOVE! LOVE! and you look tres chic!! …. The best wardrobe inspiration comes from everyday women! …

  21. Your jacket and studded booties are beautiful. It goes really well together. Both have a character of its own like I am going to kick butt today. I love that! 😍😍😍 But I totally agree with you and you are so right! Dressing up does have super powers. πŸ˜€ I believe in it and usually employ this technique for the days that are harder than others to get motivated. Dressing up uplifts my mood, gives me a boost in self confidence and I do feel like I can do anything. Amazing how it works!

    • Maureen, thanks so much for such an insightful comment! I adhere to the philosophy that you should definitely dress your best on the days that you feel the worst. It has been the most therapeutic thing for me for many years now! And it really does work. You can’t feel all that crumby if you look fabulous! Thank you for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

  22. Not a fashion person (My son thinks I need to enter the 21st century) but I think that too many people my age follow too many rules. People get weirded out when I wear some things- (I have this huge collection of minor league baseball stuff because I like logos and stuff and have stuff like Grateful Dead, Star Wars and Cal socks) because they say I am I need to be professional. I can clean up when I need to (Got a couple of Jerry Garcia ties) but I am going to be me and isn’t that what fashion is.

Anyway, thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week.

    • Patrick, I absolutely agree with all of this! Damn the rules. We should all wear what makes us feel great and the most like ourselves. No point in trying to be something you’re not. And you sound exactly like my husband. When he is out of uniform, his wardrobe consists of sports logo tees and sweatshirts, Grateful Dead and Star Wars tee shirts, and jeans (no Cal socks though). But always jeans! Occasionally, I can get him into a button down or a sweater for special events. But it is who he is and it’s great! So you just keep being you regardless of what your son says! Thanks so much for sharing with me. Have a fantastic day!

  23. Love the rock and roll vibe girl! The studded booties are fun and fierce and look great with the color mix from your jacket. Wishing you the Happiest and best of the Christmas Season! and yes, I got your message… we will be near Philly, and i will be visiting my new nephew, so prob not the best time for a meet up, but when i visit mom later next yr we should then!
    xo Jess

    • Thanks so much, Jess! This was a super fun outfit to style. And oh what fun that you are seeing your new nephew over the holiday! Our holiday travels are going to be quite hectic as well. But definitely let me know the next time you are in PA and we will make it work! Happy Holidays to you, my friend.
