Herringbone and Plaid

I have had this old herringbone swing jacket in my closet for at least a decade and it always makes its rounds into my outfits. It is the perfect weight for temperatures in the 40-60’s and it is classic enough to have decades of staying power to mix with newer trends every year. So you all know by now that plaid blanket scarves are a super hot trend this year. I recently picked up this one from Target to add to my growing collection. As I have been accumulating blanket scarves, I found myself steering away from the traditional tartan plaids, but then I realized that I really wanted one! I loved the color scheme of this one especially for the coming holidays. And the hints of black and white in it complement my herringbone jacket perfectly!

I went basic with my underneath layer with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and a spruce green trapeze cut tunic with a waffle texture. I wore wedge ankle booties in a camel color which tied in the little bit of yellow from the scarf. Then I added a chunky silver bib necklace to fill the wide neckline of the tunic if I decided to remove my scarf. I love the pop of colors in this outfit and felt very festive wearing it. Festive enough that I even put up my Christmas tree while wearing it!

How do you wear your blanket scarf? How about your herringbone or tweed? And is your Christmas tree up yet? Are you feeling that holiday festive spirit yet?

Keeping it festive on the edge,
