Feeling Seussical & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #13

March 2 marked the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, more famously known as Dr. Seuss. My children’s schools are celebrating all things Dr. Seuss for the entire month of March, so I thought I would honor the great man by sharing with you my favorite Dr. Seuss book and a very Seussically-inspired outfit!

Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now is the book that my father used to read to me every time we would visit the dentist’s office when I was a child. I was terrified of the dentist and it was his way of calming me. There was a very beat up copy of this book in the waiting room and my father would read it with such animation that I could not help but smile and laugh. To this day, decades later, it is by far my favorite of all Dr. Seuss’s works…simply because of the cherished memory it holds.  I can still hear my father’s voice as he so enthusiastically read the words on those pages.

Now onto the outfit. I put this number together yesterday for a COTD Style Challenge. The challenge was to combine Red Orange and Cobalt Blue. I went a little crazy with pattern and colors because I was feeling inspired by Dr. Seuss’s creativity as well as the colorful participants in the COTD group.

The COTD Style creators are celebrating their 2nd Birthday this week as well. So what better way to celebrate than with a crazy mix of colors and patterns! Not only would I like to wish them a Happy Birthday, but I would also like to thank them for pushing me outside of my style comfort zone! Do stop by their Facebook page or their Instagram page and wish them a Happy Birthday! They are also holding a fabulous birthday giveaway this week…but you need to join the group and participate in the challenges to be entered!

Now let me share your favorite posts from last week’s #SpreadTheKindness Link Up.

Marloes of Mooier Leven was the most clicked last week with the post Help! Hoe overleef ik mijn peuter puber?. (Help! How Do I Survive My Adolescent Toddler?) I have admit that I had to run the entire post through a translator but it was well worth it because I laughed so hard I had tears. Marloes is most definitely experiencing the terrible twos! I don’t know if this was lost in translation but what I read was something to the effect that her toddler is such a monster that she sometimes wants to stick her behind the wallpaper! I have most certainly been there! I once read this little quip that has stuck with me ever since…because it is so true. Do you know why they call it the terrible twos? Because fucking horrible doesn’t start with a T. Thanks so much for the laugh!  Hang in there, Mama!  I don’t know if ever gets better because I am currently experiencing the horrendous fours and the sassy sixes!

And Deborah of Raising My Boys…Surviving the Testosterone… shared some beautiful photographs of Late Winter in her Wordless Wednesday Link Up post. Thank you, Deborah!
