Feeling Exhausted (With Rosegal) & Link Up On the Edge #63

This blogging journey that I embarked on over two years ago often forces me to a very deep place of introspection. That is a really great thing for me because I find that introspective analysis just brings me closer and closer to the best version of myself. Oftentimes, however, this kind of analysis can stir up old wounds. And stirring up old wounds, processing them, and giving myself a moment to heal once again can be absolutely exhausting. If you have followed my recent posts over the past few weeks, you know that I have been diving pretty deep. And I have been posting very frequently…nearly daily. The result: I. Am. Exhausted.

*This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

*Dress: Plus Size High Low Long Floral Lace Dress ($21.97) c/o Rosegal.

The exhaustion is well worth it because I will come out on the other side of it stronger and better than before. I just need to remember to cut myself some slack. I need to remind myself that it really is okay to skip a post here and there. It is okay to go offline for a day or two. And it is okay to allow myself quiet time to breathe, rest, and rejuvenate. I have been in a whirlwind for the past two weeks and I simply have became mentally drained.

*Jeans: Torrid Premium Ultimate Stretch Jeggings – Medium Wash with Fading ($74.90).

*Everything else I am wearing is old.

When I sat down to write this post, I actually intended to go deeper into some of things that I have been processing. But as I write, I am feeling frazzled and rushed for time. I usually post my link up on Thursday nights and here I sit on Friday morning rushing my way through it because I am not packed yet and I need to leave in a few hours to make my way towards New York City. Because tomorrow is the big day!

I will be joining an amazing group of women at The Forever Fierce Meet Up at Chico’s where I will be modeling my Chico’s style. I need to send a huge heartfelt thank you filled with so much gratitude out to Eugenia of The Age of Grace for all of her hard work in coordinating this event and inviting me to be a part of it.

So while I am talking about this Chico’s event, I am sharing with you a dress that was provided to me by Rosegal. Um…because it’s my blog and I can do that! Rosegal is an online retailer that I have been working with for quite some time. I do love the unique pieces they offer at a reasonable price point. And while I have been trying to steer myself away from so much black in my wardrobe, I keep getting drawn back to it. Because it’s fabulous. And it’s what I love. And I will wear what I like.

But I am also getting very excited to share my Chico’s style with you as well. I have sort of been hiding it until the event tomorrow. After this weekend, I will start posting some of the gorgeous outfits I have been styling with pieces from Chico’s! So please stay tuned! I appreciate you following my journey. I am so grateful for all of you who visit and read my blog. I wouldn’t be here without you.

With no more time to waste today, let’s get on to the business of linking up.

Your favorite posts from last week…

Pamela of Style Yourself Confident shared her post FREE Color Personality Quiz. So I took the quiz and Pamela sent me a personalized email with my results. What fun! It was a super interesting read to see what my taste in color says about my personality. Now I want to know what my personal preference for certain patterns says about my personality! If you haven’t taken Pamela’s quiz yet, you should!

And Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust shared her post Chambray Tunic & White Jeans: A Work In Progress. If you are familiar with Debbie, you know that she always shares a story in her posts. And I am so glad that she shared her story of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It is one of those silent illnesses that effects more people than we know. And it is sharing these stories, our personal stories, that help so many others who may not have a voice or a forum. So thank you, Debbie, for being open about with your life. The work we do is often more important that we even realize.

If you are looking for some great work outfits, Rosegal currently is offering a work wear special. And with Halloween right around the corner, you may want to also check out their Halloween deals.

Stay tuned tomorrow, I will be sharing some of my favorite picks from Chico’s in a wish list post.

Keeping it on the edge,

Cheryl, thank you so very much for this very kind and supportive comment! Eugenia has been wonderful and I am so excited to meet her in real life. Once I get through the next two weekends (I have a blogger conference next weekend in Pennsylvania), I am going to take a much needed rest, for sure! Have a great weekend, my friend.

This is a beautiful floral dress and it looks wonderful styled with jeans and booties! I hope you have a wonderful time at the Chico’s event. I feel you on the exhausted part. I only post three days a week, but with a full-time job that is realistically all I can handle. And I am struggling to handle that with comments, linkups, visiting other blogs, etc. I think a week or two off might be necessary soon for a creative reboot.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Jennie, thank you so much for this comment and relating to where I am coming from! I always wondered how all of you fabulous bloggers do it all with full time jobs. Now that school is back in session, I do have from 8:30-12:30 Monday through Friday completely uninterrupted. And it is amazing how much I can accomplish in 4 hours when there are no interruptions. And yet, I also struggle with time management in visiting and commenting on other blogs. And I love to see what others are sharing. We all need more hours on the day! And you definitely do need a creative reboot every once in a while.

I am so exhausted lately too. Most weeks I can only manage about 4 posts and that has been the case for the last year or so. But my gosh Chico’s is a great brand and I bet you will whip up some great outfits with their pieces. Cannot wait to read both of these posts you featured today, too.

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Thanks so much for stopping by, Ada! I had a good routine of 4 posts a week for a long while, but then I had a lot of sponsored posts that I had to get out there. So in order to do it all, it turned into every day for the past month and half. I am going to taper it down again though now that I am all caught up. I hope you enjoy the featured favorite posts! They are definitely good ones. Have a great weekend, my friend.

The dress looks great! I understand what you mean about feeling exhausted! Hopefully you’ll be able to get some rest ASAP and feel refreshed and recharged!

  • Helen C

Gorgeous dress! Great that you combined it with ankle boots and those jeans, the image is very modern. I love moms that are so modern!
I am also having some very busy days lately and to be able to read my favorite blogs with a glass of milk at night before bed is my way of relaxing, so thanks for writing (although it exhausts you sometimes) 🙂

    • shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com

Aw, Helen, you are so kind! I am glad I can provide you with your evening reading material! And as exhausting as it is, it is my passion and I am driven to do it. And comments like these are what motivate me to keep writing. So thank you so very, very much!

I love this black dress, and it looks wonderful with those jeans and boots! I have no idea how you are posting every day. I’ve worked myself up to at least two post per week, and I’m exhausted from that. Blogging isn’t easy!

  • Trina Morgan

I get exhausted to sometimes from blogging, in fact I didn’t post because I was in a depressive state. I had to take a break and relax and think to get back to my old self and even thought about quitting the whole thing. I’m back to me now lol! and still in this. Thank you for sharing with us and you look so cute what you’re wearing. Love the boots! 🙂

  • Elizabeth Ramsey

Can’t wait to hear about your Chico’s adventure but get some rest this week too! I’ve noticed how many posts you have been running each week and have been wondering how you do it. People see the pretty results but only other bloggers appreciate just how much work goes into each new look and post.

Thanks so much, Elizabeth! The weekend was amazing. And now I do need to get to work on some posts about the event! I actually do enjoy posting every day especially since the process and the writing are all so therapeutic for me. And I just really enjoy creating content. But now after a few days off, I am feeling a little rusty with my words! Hahaha. Time to get back to it. Have a fabulous week, my friend.
