Dressing the Part with Banggood

I am sure you have all heard that saying, “Dress for the job you want not the job that you have.” Well, as it turns out, the job I want just so happens to be the job I have. That’s a win for me! I have always wanted a job where I can decide what to wear every day without limitations or dress codes or any rules whatsoever. A job where I am my own boss and can make my own decisions and set my own timelines.  A job which combines my eclectic and unique combination of passions. A job where all of the creative control is in my very own hands.  And I have found such a job right here at Shelbee on the Edge. Being a blogger, a writer, a stylist, and a stay-at-home mom, I have created my dream job. And what an amazing job it is!

*This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Nope, blogging is not a hobby or a past time. Neither is writing, styling, or stay-at-home momming.  These may have began as hobbies (well, not so much the momming part), but have become a job over time with more and more opportunities coming my way because I continue to treat it as a job.  And treating what I do as a real job includes dressing the part…every single day.

*Kimono: Retro Women Clothing Long Kimono Butterfly Print Cardigan ($14.59) c/o Banggood.

Sometimes, I wear a formal dress and walk around town like a crazy person snapping photos of myself. Other times, I channel my inner boss lady and rock out a business look with a pencil skirt and blazer. Often times, I get all dark and mysterious and pull out my old combat boots to show my edgier side. But most times, you can see me in a relaxed outfit that consists of a tank top or a tee layered under a kimono. It makes me feel flirty, relaxed, confident, and completely within the realm of my blogger job “requirements”!

*Pants: Old Navy Pixie Pants (Houndstooth Print is no longer available).

*Camisole: Old Navy Velvet Camisole (from last year).

I don’t know if you remember my post Weekend Wish List: Banggood when I introduced a new brand collaboration. Banggood is an online retailer based in China that offers over 70,000 products in nearly every shopping category you can imagine. They began in 2006 specializing in computer software research and development but have since shifted their business to international e-commerce services. There is literally something for everyone. And guess what I found there for myself? This gorgeous long butterfly kimono! Are you surprised I chose a kimono?

*Hat: Similar here.

*Necklace: Burlington Coat Factory (Similar here, here, here).

I do think this may be one of my favorite kimonos (and I have quite a few). I love the duster length. I am thrilled that it has long sleeves so it will transition into cooler weather easily. And it’s black with a whimsical butterfly print.  Plus it is under $15! Seriously, how could I not have chosen this piece? It is so totally my vibe.

*Shoes: DSW Crown Vintage Danny Gladiator Sandals (Currently on sale for $34.98).

What is that one piece you just simply can’t resist when you are shopping online? For me, it is always the kimono!  I would love to see your favorite styles linked up below!
