Denim, Denim, Plaid, and Cowgirl Boots

I just realized how much I am enjoying my denim jackets this season (I have three). I have been wearing them most days lately since the temperatures have been in the 50’s and denim is exactly the right amount of warmth for me.

I also am enjoying experimenting with the double denim trend. Last time I wore double denim, I paired two shades of blue denim together. This time, I went with black denim pants and a light blue denim jacket. And I really liked the contrast created with the super dark and the very pale. I layered a blue, black, and white flannel shirt over a black tank and added a black knit moto vest. All of this was thin enough to move comfortably with my jacket on. I finished off this look with a black and silver medallion necklace and a white and navy infinity scarf.

It was raining this day, so I wanted boots that I could tuck my jeans into so the cuffs of my pants would stay dry. Don’t you hate when the very bottom of your cuff gets wet and it slowly creeps up your legs until you are wet up to your knees? I don’t quite understand the physics of the creeping wetness crawling UP your leg, but it drives me crazy nonetheless. Not letting my cuffs anywhere near the wet ground seems to be the only solution. My jeans have a straight leg (not skinny), so I needed a wider boot to tuck into. And I didn’t want to ruin fancy new boots in the rain, so I went with my old, handy, reliable, chunky, lug soled cowgirl boots. My favorites for poor weather conditions!
